LINE 7.0.0 released with major improvements to photos and videos sharing features

LINE, one of the most popular messaging applications for mobile devices, has just received a major update that improves some of the current features. No additional functionalities have been added, but the Chinese developers tweaked a couple of things.

The most important improvements included in the update are related to the ability to share photos and videos. In the previous versions of LINE, users could only send photos from the photo selection screen.

With the new app, users will be able to to send both photos and videos from the photo selection screen, which reduces the number of steps required when sharing memories with friends. According to LINE developers, its users can now send up to 5 videos at once.

Furthermore, profile videos are finally playable on Timeline. After updating to LINE 7.0.0, users can setup their own profile video icons, so they can be easily be viewed on Timeline.

It's worth noting that the Android version of LINE is the only one that received the new improvements mentioned. The iOS app hasn't yet received any updates since mid-December.

Naver is a Korean company!!! They created Line and launched it in Japan with great success expanding it following the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan. At the time, Japan didn't have it's local equivalent of FB messenger, WhatsApp, KakaoTalk, etc, so the few that initially started using Line as an alternative to downed cellular and land line connections started the rapid spread of this as an essential communications app in Japan.
