LG G6 MWC 2017 announcement event liveblog

The LG G6, the first of an upcoming tidal wave of 'full-screen' phones, is finally going official today at a massive event at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.

We will be liveblogging the LG G6 announcement event, covering all the details surrounding LG's new flagship phone. So far, we expect to see a phone with a gigantic 5.7-inch display, but with very tiny bezel, so that the actual physical size of the phone is more akin to that of a smaller phone. This new screen will be taller and narrower, with a 2:1 aspect ratio, which will certainly dictate some changes to the user interface. The other cool thing is that the LG G6 will be the first non-Google phone to come with support for the Google Assistant, the fast and intelligent personal assistant that is capable of telling the context of many of your questions.

The LG G6 is expected to have the Snapdragon 821 under the hood, as the newer Snapdragon 835 is in very scarce supply and LG has chosen to optimize on the more reliable Snadpragon 821.

The rest is pretty much a mystery that will get uncovered in a flashy event starting at: 12:00 PM CET | 6:00 AM Eastern | 3:00 AM Pacific.

Seems like main camera downgraded with smaller sensor. I don't mean resolution.

Similar to Note 7 specs but without the S pen support, flat screen (which could be a preference) and no OLED. Going to be a tough year for LG since it's 2017. HTC were the first victims of increased competition from the Chinese. Watching this presentation, I can't help but feel LG is next. No hate, I used to own their phones, wish them the best but just judging from a realistic point of view.

So to resume: nothing special about screen, more work on the wide angle camera but nothing about improvements like focus, dynamic range law light, honestly when OEM starts to talk how green they phone they is it only says they don't much to say. 821 is fine but it also points LG is far from doing well. DAC should be good so ticked on that one. Kudos for leaving headphone jack. We know LG is not a battery champ but 3300 is welcome improvement. Oh and Sd slot is always welcome too. Now listen to that. Cracked me up mostly : "display fit harmoniously with the exterior design the rounded corners in the display also match perfectly with the graphics and us as well and lastly the G6 realises balance design by marrying metal and Glass materials which offer both aesthetic advantages and reliability" Perfectly match with graphics? That is level 101 in creative talk. And last but not least LG realised something about design by " marrying metal and Glass materials which offer both aesthetic advantages and reliability" Did you hear that ? They married glass and metal for the first time in the history of humanity. Wow. Jawdroper :) I know I am sarcastic I will wait , maybe phone will turn out to be fine who knows. But all this reminds me somehow Samsung 4 theatrical drama presentation.
