LG G3 to receive Android 5.0 in Korea by the end of this week?
Those in South Korea sporting the LG G3, should be happy to know that by the end of this week, the rollout to Android 5.0 will have started. Reportedly, all three of the major Korean carriers (LG U+, Korea Telecom, and SKT) will be pushing out the update at the same time. In addition, the update will be available for downloads directly from LG's own website.

Android 5.0 is considered one of the most important updates in the history of the platform. Performance of the OS should show improvement thanks to the change to Android Runtime (ART) from Dalvik. Material Design will add a new look to Android, and Project Volta should improve battery life.

Earlier this month, Polish LG G3 owners received the OTA update for Android 5.0. Once Android 5.0 is disseminated in LG's home country, we should see the latest and greatest build of the open source Android OS continue to make the trek around the planet for LG's flagship handset.

Thanks for the tip!

I hope so. The g2 could really use a visual overhaul - imo it looks a little kitch. So really hope the bring a little -g3 look through. Has anyone rooted their g2 to the G3 ui? Experience any problems? Wondering if I should do it...

I did and I encountered some reboots but only 2-3 times and I installed CloudyG3 about 5 months ago so it's excellent ROM. Also works faster and camera is better so You should definitely try it.

When I had the G2, I flashed custom roms with the G3 interface. Cloudy's was the best, as someone noted above. Another option is OptimUS G3. I had no problems with either one. Loved the G2 with these roms.

Just install a LG G3 launcher from the play store if you want only the G3's interface... :)

Where is Lollipop for Xperia Z3? I want to see some screenshots before making a buying decision. I love vanlilla Lollipop in my Nexus 5 but the Z3's camera and battery life is tempting.

Camera on Z3 isn't anything ordinary, Samsung and Apple have better cameras overall. Megapixels are only numbers.

Trust me, I know that mega pixels doesn't say everything about the camera. 20,7 MP in a mobile camera may be a bit overkill but Sony has great optics and lenses in their cameras. Samsung phones takes good pictures too but I hate Touchwiz, and iPhone is not for me.

The buttons on the back are actually awesome. Incredibly well thought out. I'd be surprised if more OEMs don't adopt the configuration in the next few years.

Still waiting for the update on my G3... resisting the urge to root and flash.

Meanwhile, ATT G3s will get this when? January 2016? There is no point getting a US carrier model phone unless you don't want to get updates other than those pesky little OTAs that remove root.
