LG G Stylo is a new mid-range smartphone with support for 2TB memory cards
Less than a week before officially unveiling the G4 flagship, LG today announced another new Android smartphone: the G Stylo. As its name suggests, the new device comes with a stylus pen, and can be seen as a larger successor to the LG G3 Stylus (which was launched in 2014).

Running Android 5.0 Lollipop, the LG G Stylo is by no means a high-end device. It's a mid-range one at best. The handset sports a pretty large 5.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, and is powered by a 64-bit, quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

What's really interesting about the G Stylo is that, according to LG, it supports microSD cards up to 2TB. However, we must mention that, right now, no one is selling, nor manufacturing 2TB microSD cards (but at least the G Stylo is future-proof from this point of view).

The new LG smartphone weighs 163 grams, measures 154.3 x 79.2 x 9.6 mm, and offers a 3000 mAh battery. Other features include LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, an 8 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage space.

The G Stylo will be first available in South Korea, costing 400,000 KRW (around $460). Starting May, LG plans to release it in various (yet unnamed) markets around the world.

It's not clear if the G Stylo is the same device as the one that was rumored to be called LG G4 Stylus. It's probably not, since the alleged G4 Stylus is supposed to feature a 5.8-inch display and a Snapdragon 610 (or 615) processor.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but technically all new phones can support 2tb.

Yeah. I've read that any phone that supports 128gb microSD would support 2TB as well, theoretically.

You can mod the card so it'll register with the phone, I did it for my S4.

Very true, I suppose it didn't really cost them anything to allow for it though. It's good for marketing, nothing else.

$460 lol. A G3 costs less than that off contract.

yeah i agree. They charge a ridiculous price for the low end specs. SD410? 8GB HD and 1.5ram? This should be no more than 199...maybe 249 tops. ASUS has much higher specs for that price. I am not paying just because it says LG on it. SONY did that and now they're under. They did it with phones, TVs, the Vaio line especially. The G2 has better specs....

Ugly phone, and too big. LG phones would be better if they were like being upside down, with less bezels on bottom.

Nothing very special about this. There already exists at least one LG phone with support for 2TB microSD on paper. There might be more, but I can't say for sure.

Pretty high price. but maybe phones are just more expensive in south korea? And maybe im wrong but aren't the snaodragon 600 series midrange? The 808 is the replacement i guess as the 810 is on top.

It was future-proof for 2TB card, but with 1.5GB ram.

Snapdragon 200 is low end, 400 is low tier middle end, 600 is high tier middle end, 8xx is high end (which is further broken into tiers but eh)

The name alone turns me off of this phone, but I'm also very judgmental.
