LG G Flex for Sprint makes appearance at the FCC

The LG G Flex (LS995), wearing Sprint's bands, visited the FCC the other day and we can't say that it was a total surprise. After all, evleaks recently sent out a tweet which mentioned that the curved-screened handset was coming to AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. And just the other day, the device found its way to the FCC office featuring AT&T and T-Mobile LTE connectivity.

On Wednesday, word came that the LG G Flex had revisited the FCC, but this time it featured Sprint's tri-band LTE (800MHz, 1,900MHz and 2,500MHz) which means we could see the carrier offer its Sprint Spark service on the device. Using three LTE bands, a phone that supports the service decides in the blink of an eye which of the three bands is perfect for a specific activity. The service offers faster data speeds in locations like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Tampa and Miami.

Current models that support Sprint Spark include the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, LG G2 and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. An update later this year will add the HTC One to the list.
