It's not easy being green says the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Remember Kermit the Frog's famous theme song? No, it isn't All About That Bass. Actually, Kermit is known for singing that It Isn't Easy Being Green. The song, which Kermit sings to explain how difficult it is to live life being that color, could also apply to the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. The flagship spec'd but small sized handset, is now available in green from U.K. retailer Clove.

The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact in green had previously been limited to those buying the phone from Sony Direct or from a specific U.K. High Street retailer. With the addition of the green model, Clove now offers the Xperia Z3 Compact in black, white, red and green.

The unit is equipped with a 4.6-inch LCD screen, with a resolution of 720 x 1280. That works out to a pixel density of 319ppi. A quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU is under the hood along with the Adreno 330 GPU handling graphics. 2GB of RAM is inside and there is 16GB of native storage with 11.79GB available to the user. A 20.7MP camera adorns the rear of the unit with a 2.2MP snapper on the front of the phone. The device is IP68 certified against dust and water, and includes stereo speakers. A 2600mAh battery keeps the lights on, and Android 4.4 is pre-installed.

The Green Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is a flagship handset that just happens to fit in a compact case. It can be purchased from Clove for $629 (after tax). After you show it off to your friends, your new phone won't be the only thing green. Your envious friends will also be the same color.

For the z3c the red one is my favorite. This green isn't so pretty imo. If they'd mad it like really green instead of the mint like green I'd like it more.

I got the green one in part because even though my favorite color is orange, the phone is actually red like you said instead of the marketed orange... and red I do not like so much (specially in a communist country, in which red color is associated with the government)... The green actually grew on me, and it has been the most expensive model on Amazon for quite some time, so to be able to get it basically at the same price as the other colors was something good, so it can hold a bit more value for resale later on. I have always got black phones to not draw attention, and I dont like white phones specially with white frame around the screen because it distract you from the content on the screen... there is a reason why TVs and Monitors use a black frame around them.

That green color looks more like aquamarine. But that's none of my business *sips tea*

I went for the white. If sony could offer metallic blue or matte maroon for the next compact series it will be fresh colors for the people.

With only 720p to push I wouldn't say it is ruined... I would have like 3GB as well, but 2GB in this phone is definitely enough for the next couple of years... And I am somebody that keeps a lot of background running apps such as Llama, SmartConnect, AppRemote, Rotation Manager, etc... (not counting IM, and google apps).. and all of this on a 1GB (670MB) RAM phone.

I have one.. It is really great device. I got it after I sold iPhone 6. didn't regret at all. Maybe I should go for green, but I got black instead, mostly because I dislike white phones and green wasn't available...

Treat that green jowel with care, cause every Z3 compact is fragile. But it is so beautifull that you don't need that advice, you'll protect it by yourself. My friends are green, I confirm, and my charger is dust grey. I advice few things : #1 = Put a strap on the bottom of the phone, not only for put it around your wrist (I rarely do that), but when you hold that small phone, it's a better holding with the tense you can have with the strap hold in your hand : makes a higher hold. Plus it gives the phone a little tail, wich is pretty nice (a guy asked me : is that a phone, or a camera ?. for that.. I answered : both. Even if this not the best camera on smartphones market). #2 = Install some "hidden lock widget" at a place on the main screen your thumb can easily reach (so, almost everywhere..), because the power button is a bit loose, and I think it's better to save it from becoming looser. #3 = Get a charging dock, that changes the whole game. Unfortunately I can't find out on wich little french website I got mine, and I removed the model sticker, but it's sooo good : the magnet is strong enough to grab and charge the phone, and not too strong to feel you have to force to remove (and feel you hurts the connectics). It is a lil bit slower to charge than the regular boring flap thing, but it's perfect for night and desk (I even install a tiny app that automatically display a big digital old school clock you can make the SAME special green as your phone, and of course all kind of colours.. plus battery life, alarm clock, days. It's beautifull.). # 4 = "Don't drown your sorrows in beer, Don't drown your sorrows in wine, I have whiskey in my pocket right here, Come and drown yours sorrows in mine". This song just came up in my mind, sorry for that.
