INQ working on Android-powered cell phone
Until recently, INQ was a company that nobody had heard of. But it managed to make it big with their socially-oriented, feature phone product that includes handsets such as the INQ1 that got the best device award at MWC 2009. The manufacturer then released two other BREW-based cell phones in quick succesion, the Chat 3G and Mini 3G and so far, INQ has cashed in on more than 700 000 units in total, despite the fact their devices are available on a limited number of markets. INQ´s plans include Android-based cell phones that, according to company´s CEO, will be released in 2010. Keeping in mind what these guys achieved with BREW, we cannot wait to see what they will come up with using the richer, more advanced Google-made platform. We don´t have to be fortune tellers to know INQ´s products can give the upcoming socially-oriented Motorola handsets based on the new MOTOBLUR interface a good run for the money, but INQ will have to enter the global market and chuck their strategy of being focused on one or two European carriers.
