Huawei Ascend Y530 with Simple Android Interface launched in the UK
While Huawei is busy getting ready to amaze us at MWC next week, it also found the time to launch its not-so-amazing Ascend Y530 smartphone in the UK.

We showed you the Ascend Y530 back in January, when we mentioned that the handset would be released in Germany starting March. Well, it’s available in the UK now, costing about $250 (£149.95) SIM-free. In the age of Motorola’s Moto G, which costs as low as £139.95 in the UK (8GB version), the price of the Ascend Y530 doesn’t really make sense. Why? Because the Y530 is a rather low-end offering, coming with a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) display, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of expandable internal memory.

Still, what makes the Ascend Y530 somewhat special is the fact that it features a standard Android interface (4.3 Jelly Bean), as well as “Huawei’s new Simple Android Interface”, which “delivers a stress-free smartphone experience that’s perfect for the first or second time smartphone user.”

British customers can buy the Huawei Ascend Y530 starting today from Argos, which offers only a black version of the handset. Come March, Carphone Warehouse will sell the smartphone in both black and white. We assume that the Y530 will be launched in more markets around the world in the near future.
