Have a peek at Alcatel's 2018 high-end lineup of smartphones before they get announced

Alcatel is an international brand, which means many of the brand's smartphones are available in just about every corner of the world. In the United States, Alcatel is known for its Idol lineup, which usually comprises of high-end smartphones.

However, Alcatel might drop the Idol monicker according to a new image leaked by Evan Blass. The picture shows Alcatel's entire high-end lineup for the first half of 2018 and none of the devices contains the “Idol” branding name.

At the top of the small pyramid sits the Alcatel 5, which probably means that it will be the most advanced smartphone launched by the company. Alcatel 3V and 3X come next, followed by three other handsets: Alcatel 3, Alcatel 3C and Alcatel 1x.

Judging by the naming scheme, only the Alcatel 5 seems to be a top-tier smartphone, while the other five are likely to belong to the mid- and low-end segment.

We expect the Alcatel 5 to be introduced in the United States next year, probably along with one or two other smartphones appearing in the leaked picture. Unfortunately, no details about their specs emerged yet, but we can safely assume some of them will be unveiled in January 2018 at CES (Consumer Electronics Show).
