HTC One (M7) Unlocked and Developer editions are receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop updates starting today

If you have an unlocked HTC One (M7), or a One (M7) Developer edition, get ready to update your device to Android 5.0 Lollipop! HTC today revealed that an official Lollipop update is now rolling out to the two One models - about a week after the update for the unlocked One (M8)was released.

As we told you a few hours earlier, Sprint's One (M7) is also getting Android Lollipop starting today. As for the handset's versions for other carriers, the update isn't ready yet, though it should be released pretty soon.

The One (M7) is almost 2 years old now. It was launched in March 2013, running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and remains a very nice smartphone - that is, if you don't mind the fact that it features a Snapdragon 600 processor, and a 4 MP UltraPixel rear camera. With the HTC One (M9) expected to be announced next month, the One (M7) is cheaper than ever: you can buy it off-contract for as low as $149.

While it's true that HTC missed its 90-day Lollipop update goal for most devices, it's good to see that there are no major delays (at least for now).
