HTC EVO 3D release date expected to be June 4th

HTC EVO 3D release date expected to be June 4th
The HTC EVO 3D release date was a secret well kept up until now, but the long awaited successor to the original HTC EVO 4G, has shown up in a leaked screenshot from an email sent to staff at RadioShack flaunting a June 4th arrival. Obviously, the Sprint-bound device is hot not only for the customer, but for your retail sales folk as well. Employees are urged to “talk it up with every customer” as “this can make or break a quarter.”

The June 4th launch date, which falls on a Saturday, is “rough,” so it could be pushed a couple of days, but when a pre-order is made, it “guarantees” a phone to the customer. Unfortunately, there’s still no word on pricing on this 3D heavyweight, but the Shack expects to offer the best deal out there. A smart team is to also call back “every wireless contact,” so you could expect a surprise phone call detailing you the wonders of the handset.

UPDATE: RadioShack's ads for that period however quickly counter the June 4th date, as the EVO 3D does not appear in them and it sounds very unlikely that the handset is launched without any ads. But that's why it's "rough" release date after all. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long after June 4th for the handset to hit shelves.

But even now we can tell you all about the HTC EVO 3D, which was launched back at CTIA 2011: a 4.3” display with qHD resolution and a parallax barrier for the 3D effect are part of the show, but a dual-core 1.2GHz 3rd-gen Snapdragon chip and a dual 5 megapixel camera setup also contribute to the appealing package. Are you planning on getting the EVO 3D? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

YES!!! I have been waiting for a release date forever now. I preordered it on Best Buy, & I just can't wait. 2 weeks & one day can't get here quick enough! I love my HTC Evo 4G but I just want my dual core 1.2 GHz beast of a phone YESTERDAY! I can't wait to surf the web on that bad boy, on 4G & on Wi-Fi. Thank you HTC & Sprint. I am so stoked!!! Let's just hope this release date pans out!

Yea it serves me right to get exited like I did. Let’s see if they still release it around the June 4th date. Damn this sucks, let's hope they just release a new ad just for the HTC Evo 3D only! Damn what a letdown! Lets hope for the best! :-(

"Update: And we're already being told it's not going to be June 4, as it's not in Radio Shack's ads for that period. Hey, it's a "rough" date, right?" pay attention

thats SGSII is beastly...

specs aren't any better than the Evo 3D... and its coming out when?? maybe 6 months later?? that's like comparing the Evo 3D to the original sgs2 which came out 6 months ago.. and that's not even close... but with the sgs2 taking 6 months longer to come out, to be virtually identical specs isn't impressive...

You can buy it now and its already better than the evo 3D. Im not knocking the evo i like it. But the galaxy 2 is better..

Yeah Galaxy 2 is better because it runs shitty touch wiz, gets updates once in a blue moon, has an inferior camera, no glasses free 3D display, and a slower chipset.

Just spoke to my HTC rep and was told mid to late June that it was not coming out on the 4th of June.

This is interesting, considering it was only 3 days ago they said they didn't know the release date. So either they're pulling something out of their ass to get people to reserve at Radio Shack or they received info. If it is June 4th we should get an official statement this weekend. Already preordered at Best Buy.

I was all set on getting the Evo 3D in June .Then I heard the rumor about the iphone coming to Sprint in September with a new dual core processor and an even better 8mp camera! ( although it will still only be a 3G phone...) Now I'm not sure what to do!!! Suggestions anyone?

depends on, your current carrier, your wants and needs from said phone (android vs ios operating systems) , also, it is just a better version of the current iphone speaking from a hardware standpoint. Apple has not added anything "new" to their UI in a long time, they are turning into blackberry IMO.

whats the point of this phone, sprint is going to drop wimax just like IDEN to get LTE. What a great phone too bad its going to waste

Even though sprint is most likely switching to LTE , some of us dont have 4g wimax or 4g lte in their network area anyways so it doesn't matter when the switch occurs, ill stick with the evo 3d for a year and upgrade to a 4g lte phone next summer.

So they Use Sprints old slow 3G. Bummer

Well since LTE is still pretty limited on coverage areas, And Wimax is in about double the areas, Using a WiMax phone for now sounds like a good idea, unless you are like me, one of the few that gets LTE now, and not WiMax....

Sprint will most likely release this phone on a Sunday like all there phone's. I am sure this phone is no different. So the 5th, 12th, 19th, or 26th is when it should launch.

TERRIBLY SORRY FELLAS--- Radioshack has NO idea when the release date is. June 4th was the release date of the EVO 4G--- it too, was announced a couple months prior on a similar date to the EVO 3D's announcement, to be coming out int he 2nd quarter. The June 4th date is simply the release date of the 4G, and that is where Radioshack is getting their estimate from. IT is unrealistic that the EVO 3D gets a June 4th release date because they still havn't announced the release date yet. The EVO 4G's June 4th release date was announced several weeks before it happens. They are not going to release the 3D on June 4th when it is 5/25, a week and a few days prior, and the release date hasn't even been announced yet. Try June 20th--- that is a bit more realistic.

well, i work at radio shack, and those emails could be sent out. it was said to be hush hush about it, but since the phone will have huge ring credit, some supervisors and DM's might push the idea of pre ordering.

The HTC EVO 3D will be able to work with both LTE and Wimax.

I disagree, LTE runs on the 700 frequency were as the wimaxnetwork the evo 3d uses is 802.16e
