Google kills off its mobile data saving app, removes it from the Play Store
Google has yet to confirm the move, but AndroidPolice was recently tipped about the missing app. One other interesting thing about Datally is that the app now informs users that it's not compatible with Android 10, so if you plan to update to the new version of the OS, you won't be able to continue to use the app.
Datally is aimed at smartphone users who can't afford to consume too much mobile data. The app takes advantage of a VPN to automatically check data usage of each app installed on the phone and lets users block background data usage.
The app also provides users with a nice chart that shows the overall data usage, but there's also an option that allows them to find Wi-Fi networks that have been rated by other users.
