The Google Pixel 3 series comes with original-quality backups through January 2022
When Google announced the original Pixel series of phones back in 2016, the company announced that users would be able to access free, unlimited original-quality backups for photos and videos through the Google Photos app for as long as they used the device.

With the arrival of the Pixel 2 lineup, Google added a bit of fine print to the offer which stated users of the newer devices would only have access to the future through the end of 2020 – still a pretty good deal considering that equated to over three years of unlimited backups. And today, following the launch of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Google has continued its tradition by once again offering unlimited original-quality backups. This time around, though, the deal lasts slightly longer.

To be specific, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL owners will be able to upload their original videos and photos to the service without needing to worry about storage limits through January 31, 2022. This works out to almost an entire month extra of free backups.

For those of you who may be interested in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the two devices are currently available to pre-order through the official Google Store for $799 and $899 respectively. If 64GB of storage isn't sufficient, though, an extra $100 will grant users access to 128GB. Separately, consumers can also acquire the device through Verizon.
