Google Assistant button coming to more LG smartphones in 2019, Nokia and Xiaomi too
Google took the stage at Mobile World Congress (MWC) to share some interesting details about Android and its plans for 2019. The Mountain View giant made a lot of partnerships in its attempt to bring more AI (artificial intelligence) capabilities to smartphones, and a direct result of these collaborations is the addition of a dedicated button for the Google Assistant on some devices.

LG is one of the companies that added a Google Assistant button on its flagships, which is meant to allow users to access the phone's AI features faster and easier while on the go. According to Google, starting this year, more LG smartphones will get a dedicated Assistant button, including the newly unveiled LG G8 ThinQ and the mid-tier lineup: LG Q60, LG K50, and LG K40.

Aside from LG, Nokia and Xiaomi will include Google Assistant buttons on their phones as well, so you can expect to find them on the Nokia 3.2 and 4.2, as well as Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G and Mi 9.

Two other smartphone brands, TCL and Vivo will also launch phones with the Google Assistant button later this year. Apparently, Google expects that more than 100 million phones launched by the end of the year will have a dedicated Google Assistant button, an impressive achievement if you ask us.
