Deal: get the Microsoft Lumia 650 at a 25% discount by the end of the week

The Microsoft Lumia 650, the current-generation entry-level Windows 10 Mobile smartphone from Microsoft, can now be yours for just $149.

The Microsoft Lumia 650 launched earlier in the year at a price of $199 but the Microsoft Store currently has it on sale at $149. That’s a 25% discount and a good price overall for a simple but effective handset.

The deal is valid until August 21, which gives you a little under a week to take advantage of this promotion.

As far as mid-range smartphones go, the Microsoft Lumia 650 isn’t exactly a handset with an impressive specsheet. The raw hardware includes a 5-inch AMOLED screen running at 720 by 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset (the most ‘energy efficient’ chip that Qualcomm currently makes) paired with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of integrated storage, a microSD card slot, and an 8MP-5MP camera setup.

In our Microsoft Lumia 650 review, we noted that the overall experience topped the expectations that one may have judging by the spec sheet. At $149 unlocked and without a carrier contract, the Lumia 650 might well be worth your money if you’re looking for a handset that’s just good enough for basic actions.

What do you guys think of the Lumia 650 at $149?

I'd rather shell out $149 on the Prime version of the Moto G4. The app gap is real and growing every day.

If you're not playing Pokemens or anything like that, there is no such thing as app gap. You got all you need for daily use.

Let's see...shall we just start with Chase? Can't use their mobile site to deposit checks. That's just the first one.

You said that because you don't know what the other ecosystem has to offer. I am actively seeking out ways I could sustain my productivity without the need of my notebook. It's not only possible to remain productive but certain task is done quicker using apps.

Should be $50, only one hundred people use the platform, and ten of them work for MS.
