Cingular announces HP iPAQ hw6500series device
Today Cingular and HP announced that the hw6500series of HP devices will be available through Cingular, beginning on Oct. 31. The HP iPAQ hw6500 series device is the first to have an integrated GPS receiver. The hw6500 series also features quad-band GSM frequencies and high-speed EDGE and GPRS data. Operating on Windows Mobile for Pocket PC OS and featuring full QWERTY keyboard turns the HP iPAQ hw6500 series into powerful messaging device, capable of short text messages, MMS, Instant messaging, and email. It is also capable of MP3 playback and expands its memory through SD cards. Combined with optional camera (with video recording) in the hw6515 version, the hw6500 series is also a multimedia device. The main drawback is that is still runs on Windows Mobile 2003 version instead of the latest Windows Mobile 5 operating system.
