BenQ-Siemens announces six new cellphones

BenQ-Siemens has announced six new mobile phones for the annual CeBIT trade show, held this year in Hannover, Germany. The new models, which focus on the multimedia features, include – P51, EL71, CL71, C81, E61 and CF61.

 

P51: the successor of BenQ P50 smartphone, which upgrades the operating system to Windows Mobile 5.0 and adds WLAN 802.11 b/g support as well as GPS features. It is expected to be available in July 2006. The other main features of the quad-band GSM device are:

  • full Qwerty keyboard
  • QVGA 65k color TFT touch display
  • 1.3 mega pixels camera with flash and video capture
  • 128 MB SDRAM, 128 MB Flash
  • SDIO memory expansion slot
  • Music player (MP3, AAC,AAC+, AMR, WAV, WMA, Midi)
  • Video player (WMV, MPEG4, .3GP, H.264)
  • VoIP via WiFi support
  • Bluetooth/USB/ WLAN connectivity

P51

 




EL71: an ultra-slim tri-band GSM phone with slide form factor and metal finish. It is expected to be available in April 2006, initially in Quartz Anthracite color and shortly after that in Opal Black color as well. It sports:

  • 2.0-inch QVGA 262k color TFT display
  • 1.3 mega pixels camera with flash and video capture
  • GPRS/EDGE high-speed data
  • 16 MB internal memory
  • microSD memory expansion slot
  • Music player (MP3/ AAC/AAC+ support)
  • Music playback and streaming
  • Bluetooth/USB connectivity

EL71

 




CL71: another ultra-thin tri-band GSM slider phone with metal finish, which was introduced under the name Cupid, when its pictures surfaced the net for the first time The main features of the device, which is expected in Q2 2006, are:

  • 2.0-inch 262k color TFT display
  • 1.3 mega pixels camera with CMOS sensor
  • 24MB internal memory
  • microSD memory expansion slot
  • MP3 player
  • 3D surround sound
  • Video Recording and Playback
  • Bluetooth v1.2/USB 1.1 connectivity
  • Built-in speakerphone

CL71

 




C81: a bar-designed tri-band GSM phone that is expected to hit the market in Q2 2006.The main featuresare are as follows:

  • 262k color TFT display
  • 1.3 mega pixels camera
  • GPRS/EDGE high-speed data
  • RS-MiMC memory expansion slot
  • Music player ( MP3/AAC-e/AAC+ support)
  • Video player (h.263, MPEG4 support)
  • Video and Audio streaming.
  • BluetootH/USB 2.0 connectivity

C81

 


E61: an entry-level bar-designed music phone, introduced as Hermes B, when information about it first appeared on the net. It features dedicated music buttons, placed on the top side; Music player, supporting MP3 format and a VGA camera. E61 is also expected to be released in Q2 2006.

CF61: a consumer-oriented tri-band GSM phone with clamshell form factor and interchangeable covers in different colors. It is expected to be available in Q2 2006. The device sports:

  • 262k color TFT display
  • 1.3 mega pixels camera
  • Openwave 6.3 Internet browser
  • MP3/AAC/WMA player
  • 3D surround sound
  • microSD memory expansion slot
  • Bluetooth/USB 1.1 connectivity
