BLU intros the Life 8 XL, starts taking pre-orders for the Life One (2015 Edition)
BLU is restlessly introducing new devices in its attempt to become an important smartphone vendor in the US. This week, the company announced that customers can now pre-order the BLU Life One (2015 Edition) - a handset that was first showcased in January - as well as the BLU Life 8 XL - a brand new smartphone that succeeds last year's Life 8.

Normally priced at $149, the BLU Life One 2015 Edition can be pre-ordered for just $99 until June 19, when the handset will actually start shipping. The new Life One is obviously not a high-end device, offering features like a 5-inch 720p display, LTE, quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 13 MP rear camera, and a 5 MP front-facing camera. The phone also has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, and a 2820 mAh battery. For a closer look at the device, check out our BLU Life One hands-on.

The BLU Life 8 XL will be in stock starting July 1, and, if you pre-order it between June 22 and June 30, you can get it for just $79 ($50 less than the regular $129 price). The Life 8 XL is powered by an octa-core MediaTek 6592M processor, and doesn't have LTE. Other features include a 5.5-inch 720p display, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage space, 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, and a 2920 mAh battery.

Like many other BLU smartphones, the new Life One and Life 8 XL are available unlocked, exclusively via Amazon. Both handsets have dual SIM capabilities, and run Android KitKat (but updates to Android Lollipop will be released starting the following months).

Is anyone here planning to buy one of these new BLU handsets?

Sort of want to buy a Life 8 XL just to see how good a 5.5" phone for $79 could possibly be.

Suggest you read other user review before you made that decision, e.g http://www.phonedog.com/videos/blu-studio-60-lte-unboxing-first-look

Bought the studio c for $99. It's cool. Definitely worth the price. The 8mp camera Is horrendous but it does have lollipop.

I bought a BLU Studio Energy and I really like it. It runs pretty smooth and lasts forever. Only real problem I've had was an inaccurate gps, it shows my location as being off by a couple hundred feet. But honestly I can use it as a daily driver. However that GPS issue is frustrating.

I'm sitting on a Studio G right now (still waiting on that Lollipop, BLU). The Life 8 XL does sound pretty good for that price. Octa-core processor and a decent 5.5" display, but seeing how many other phones offer better cameras (both front and back), I may go for the Life One. Either way, they're a nice step up from what I currently have, in at least one aspect each.
