Are we over fully black phones now?

So, when Apple announced two new colors for the iPhone 7 last year, which were “matte black” and “shiny black”, it made for a good couple of jokes, right? But hey, the iPhone is the iPhone and before we knew it, black was cool again. Samsung raced to launch a “limited edition” Galaxy S7 edge in Pearl Black so that it can have a black phone before the Galaxy S8 launches, OnePlus got super-inspired and introduced a Midnight Black edition of the 3T, with the color moving on to the OnePlus 5 now... and a lot of the new models in 2017 have been quite blacked out.

Hey, matte black on metal looks awesome, sure. But there is such a thing of overexposure, even for the cool stuff. Are you feeling a bit fatigued by the blacky black on black models?

Are we over black phones now?

Nope! More black on black, please!

You go back and forth depending on your preference at the time. Sometimes you want a bit of colour at the back just because it complements that specific mode. I remember how much I loved the full black on my Nexus 4, but the Nexus 5 just looked incredible with a white back. Depends.

Black "overexposed"? If anything, the trend towards "gold" and "rose gold" is overexposed. I've had enough of that. Give me basic black.

This poll is a nice way of asking the general public if they're dumb enough to say they want more (fragile as hell) glass phones on the market....

I liked matte black and grey ever since the F-22 got unveiled. Edit: There needs to be a matte white phone.

iPhoneArena using selective references as usual to make Apple sound like the trendsetter. Samsung has released all black editions of all glass models. Anyhoo, black models will always sell as they look nice. Samsung primarily promoting phones with strong colour themes the last couple years is because a contrast between the black screen and the rest of the phone makes their thin bezels more noticeable.

Never! As long as there are other color options keep them.

I only like the all black because I like the front of my phone and back to be the same color... Like I loved my all blue note 7 (R.I.P) but this year the S8s all had a black face regardless of what color option you went with. And to me that looks tacky. I want the front to look like the back. I don't know why that's difficult. Like why does that red iPhone have a white face?

I like front black mostly on AMOLED based display that give great feel. but back should be colorful like HTC U11

Having a phone that is black is a safe choice. My Moto E 2nd Gen is all black, and I like it that way - it looks good like that. I don't know if I'll stick with that on my next phone, though, as the color overall doesn't matter too much to me as long as it looks alright.

Black is boring. I love white and most any other color but the ugly gold.

Can't go wrong with black. Just because apple failed at making a black phone it doesn't mean the color is dead across the board.

The hell are you talking about? Apple's Jet Black is perhaps the most popular variant (and also the hardest to get... still).

Black on black looks good and I think it should be an option. Personally, I think if every company had a Moto Maker option, then we wouldn't need to have this poll. I'd love black front, black back, but accent the little bits with another color (red, orange, yellow, pink, etc).
