Apple working on new 4-inch iPhone, 12.9-inch iPad for 2015?
Are you one of those who greeted the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus with an overwhelming feeling of "where is my 4-inch iPhone, you schmucks?!" If that's the case, you might be happy to know that the iPhone 5's original, tried and true form factor might be making a comeback in 2015. Analyst Timothy Arcuri sent a note to Apple investors, claiming that Cupertino is at work on a possible "iPhone 6s mini" - similar in power to the iPhone 5s, but designed after the iPhone 6/Plus's glassy curves. The device could replace the iPhone 5c as Apple's low tier offering. It is said the company could source bespoke components from chip maker Qualcomm to minimize the pricing.

Although Apple increased the iPhone 6's screen size because that's what users wanted, it probably won't go as far as removing the 4-inch option from its lineup. Not only it seems like a natural fit for a cheaper device that doesn't have to push high-resolution content to a big screen that facilitates it, but it will also please iPhone loyalists who are accustomed to the smaller form factor to the point of rejecting bigger displays altogether. Sounds like hitting two birds with one stone!

Additionally, Arcuri suggests Apple has a 12.9-inch iPad in the works for Spring 2015. He believes a larger tablet will be a fresh new look at the product category, and estimates 15 to 20 million initial shipments of it.
