App spotlight: Test your reactions with Ready Steady Bang
Here's a game that takes you back to the days when the west was still wild, when men were still men, and when solving an argument involved a shoot-out in front of the saloon. Okay, Ready Steady Bang doesn't exactly do that, but it is a great little time waster that we just came across. Simply put, it is a game that tests your reactions – you'll have to be alert, focused, and fast-fingered in order to win. When the bang signal is given, you have to tap on the screen before your opponent does. But don't lose your focus as you only get one shot. Pull the trigger too early and you've surely lost the round.

Ready Steady Bang can be played against the computer, with each following cowboy opponent being harder to beat than the previous one. The further you progress, the more death animations you'll unlock – these can be viewed in the kill gallery for your personal amusement. And when you get bored of that, find a buddy to challenge. Ready Steady Bang can be played by two human players on the same device.

As you can surely see in the screenshots below, the game doesn't deliver any fancy high-end graphics or anything like that. Quite the opposite – it is an example of what can be achieved when a minimalist approach is applied. And the animations are kind of silly too, which probably will make you want to unlock and see all of the hidden ones.

Ready Steady Bang is free for Android with apps appearing every once in a while. The iOS version of the game will send you back a buck.
