Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One (M8) and M7 to start rolling January 3rd

Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC One (M8) and M7 to start rolling January 3rd

HTC promised to update its flagships within 90 days of receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop source code from Google, released November 3rd. That makes the beginning of February the self-imposed deadline for HTC to deliver, but it seems that the flagship One (M8) will do one better even.

On a closed London event HTC has confirmed that it will start rolling out the Lollipop update January 3rd, and several other sources have corroborated the claim, it seems, adding HTC One to the mix, too.

With a brand new, 64-bit Lollipop should come a brand new Material Design-inspired HTC Sense interface, right? Right, said HTC, and rolled up its sleeves. What you are seeing above, are purported screenshots from a test HTC One (M8) running a Lollipop build, with the eventual new HTC Sense interface. All that jazz, together with the improved notification system and other new Lollipop features will be hitting your HTC flagship less than a month from now, if this report holds water.

Good work HTC, please don't forget about the Desire 815.
It is a great device, and it would be a shame if it didn't get Android 5.0.

Search for a RUU (Rom Update Utility) to return it back to stock, it might not lock the bootloader but it will restore the stock ROM and stock recovery so you can receive updates nevertheless.

Actually I think you have to relock your bootloader first before you run the RUU

The interface looks more promising than TW.

Sense 6 had that material look and feel. The only think lacking was the recent apps and notifications menu,so I guess it was pretty easy for them to get this done within 2months.
Can't imagine m8,m7 being more fast than what they are now.

I'm pretty sure once boot loader has been unlocked even with relocking it you will not receive otas.the file will most likely be available to flash anyway and even then it doesn't take long for custom roms to arrive which will probably be better anyway.
