Action Launcher update brings Essential Phone support, adds adaptive folders

Action Launcher, the popular Android app that allows users to customize their smartphones, is getting yet another important update. This would be version 31 and, as developer Chris Lacy points out, the launcher receives a handful of new features and improvements.

First off, Essential Phone users will be pleased to know Action Launcher now has support for this particular device. Another important addition is adaptive folders support. On top of that, the developer announced adaptive icon support, which previously required the one-time Plus upgrade, is now available for free to everyone.

Furthermore, the update brings support for Google's Product Sans font, which displays by default on the “At the glance” widget. The font can be applied to all items on the phone's desktop if you like it.

Action Launcher was improved with Oreo features over the course of 3 or 4 iterations, and the last one is no exception. Version 31 adds full support for pinning widgets and shortcuts from external apps, thus completing the list of Oreo-specific features.

Finally, the update is supposed to squash more than twenty bugs. Moreover, Chris Lacy says that “going forward, app stability and performance will no longer be secondary priorities to the constant push to implement new features,” so expect fewer issues in future versions.
