$303 will buy you the Nokia Lumia 720 in India after 10% price cut

$303 will buy you the Nokia Lumia 720 in India after 10% price cut
After a roughly 10% discount in India, the Nokia Lumia 720 is now priced at 17,148 INR ($303 USD) online at Flipkart. Back in April, the device cost 18,999 INR ($335 USD). The phone has received about 500 comments on the Indian online retailer's website, mostly positive. The Nokia Lumia 720 in black is available and will be delivered in just 2 to 3 business days. The same phone in white, red or yellow won't be delivered until the 8th through 10th day after being ordered.

The Nokia Lumia 720 offers a 4.3 inch screen with resolution of 480 x 800 (WVGA) and a pixel density of just 217 ppi. A dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU is under the hood with the Adreno 305 GPU also on board. 512MB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of native storage which can be expanded with the use of a 64GB capacity microSD slot. On back is the phone's primary camera, a 6.7 MP snapper. The f/1.9 aperture allows for outstanding low-light photography. The camera on back captures video at 1280 x 720 at 30fps and a 1.3MPfront-facing camera is great for taking "selfies".The 2000mAh battery keeps the lights on.

Low to mid-range models do well in India where the general consumer population cannot afford to buy high-end smartphones. We recently mentioned that Apple has had to resort to aggressive pricing tactics for the Apple iPhone in the country, which has resulted in a fourfold increase in sales.

One of the best mid range device with stylish design, nice display(CLB),pretty good camera and superior build quality. only drawback I see is that 512mb, dont get me wrong the device perform very smooth but some apps requires 1GB ram especially games.

That's Pakistan, we're talking about India. Nexus 4 costs about 25k INR which totals to about $459...now calculate which is better.

The Pakistan prices are for the imported units from U.S. with no manufacturer warranty in Pak. LG probably hasnt officially released the device there yet. Such imported units without an OEM warranty tend to be cheaper

yup ur right, my cousin brother just bought this awesum piece f beauty.. And frankly phone runs smooth like butter, vid 512 mb. No lag , no hang ups or anything, worked like bullet train. The screen played hd videos vid ease and they were on par vid the screen of galaxy note2( only difference is screen size). The battery is monsterous , gives a whole day of juice even if u use internet for most f the day with chatting over the phone.. Frankly speaking if a cheap phone like canvas 2 ( manufactured in india by micromax) can easily run temple run 2, subway surfers and many other games and apps without any stutter, then msft shud do something to optimise apps and games to feed handstes vid 512 mb ram. well i would say not all but few apps and games really need 1 gb to run and most f the games and apps are fine even vid 512 mb( n btw its basically games i wud as say most apps run with 512 ram easily ). But given the price i would say even few droids give 1 gb ram at that level. Nt a bad article though

The fact that a mid ranger costing 19000 rs was already a bad pricing in here .... One can buy Galaxy grand for 17k.... That's when 720 has only 512mhz ram, with uncertain future....

I think for those who prefer mid range windows phone 8 this is a pretty good choice

Galaxy Grand was first launched at a price of above 20k +. You must take that to account if you want to compare. And it was launched before 720.

Me2, got my S4 Exynos A15 last week. WP8 is okay for first time users! If coming from Android, it's a nightmare like iOs....!®

galaxy grande was introduced for around 22k now if u check a store ( nt the online) u can easily get it for 16k. dats like a high decrease f nearly 30%. Frankly no company vud reduce that much in a phone within 2 months f a phones launch. Either the quality is real bad or sammy is scared of nokia and other small indian maufacturers( which are providing gud quality phones at a budgeted price, even lower then grande) . Same goes for s4 whose price has fallen by nearly 5k within one month of its launch( i really wonder hwcm its possible if the phone is selling in millions , why would a company decrease its price so soon. God knows whats THE REAL TRUTH BEHIND ALL THat SALES DATA.....hyper inflated lie.....

720 is a better value for money than 820. Buy 720 if you want a WP8 midrange, or 920/925 if you want a high end.

Pricing shown in screenshot is wrong. It's selling for 18.1k on Flipkart as i write. Add another 3K and get XPERIA TX from ebay instead of spending money on this useless device

I don't see the price cut on flipkart still. Where is this data coming from? I like the phone. It is the best phone for that price. The guys mentioning about nexus 4 go take a walk. you don't get awesome battery life, 1.5 days with Wifi ALWAYS ON, syncing 4 email accounts, tell me which goddam Android will give you that? awesome display, no need to squint, or use your palm to block sunlight when using the phone in sunlight. a microsd slot with 64 gb support. a camera that takes good low light photos. Good antenna performance, no dropped calls, even in elevators. No lag and stuttering the only drawback is that apps are slightly slow to load. I had a 720, but unfortunately it got drenched in the rain :( and water got in and messed up the display. it costs about half the price of the phone to replace it. I got myself a 920 now

"Low to mid-range models do well in India where the general consumer population cannot afford to buy high-end smartphones." This statement is not completely true. While most are capable of buying tht phone, the general question among the burgeoning middle class is , has and always will be the same Why do i invest in a product whose value gets lessened as the time progresses when i could invest the same in gold and land which add value to the individual. there are several alternatives for a phone but none for the above said two products :) simple ! The marekting strategy should show the ways to circumvent this belief :)
