Poor 4

iHate it.

wind96xx has owned it for less then month before publishing this review

Very poor phone. Bought it February 2012 and sold it after 2 weeks because it sucks. Bought Samsung Galaxy S II to use with my old Sony Ericsson Xperia pro I bought in October. Both are way better than iPhone.

Build quality 5/10
People say it looks great. I personally don't care about how my phone looks. It can be ugly as hell, but it has to be comfortable. And with its sharp edges, it's not. Also, it's extremely fragile: drop it from a small height and it will most likely shatter.
Reception 5/10
Not good. Drops calls often.
Call quality 5/10
Audio quality is better than the old iPhones, but when compared to other phones (HTC) it still sucks.
Internet 2/10
Very poor. Apple advertises the iPhone browser for loading content quickly, which is somewhat true. But, it doesn't have Flash, so I call that cheating. I mean seriously, does loading half a website (without Flash) count as fast?
Multimedia 3/10
You must transfer all content via iTunes program, which is good for Mac, but slows down PC incredibly. Samsung Galaxy S II supports much more video codecs.
Camera 6/10
Above average 8MP camera can shoot exceptional 1080p video. But sometimes you don't have enough memory and want to record lower quality video or photo, and you can't do that.
UI speed 7/10
The UI is fast but very limited in features.
Everyday usage 3/10
Poor. They made a phone with no Bluetooth file transfer, and that says it all. Except Siri. Siri is fun.
Text input 5/10
The small screen doesn't make the keyboard too comfortable.
Display 8/10
Very good. The only display that can compare to the SuperAMOLED Plus on Samsung Galaxy S II. But it's too small
Battery 3/10
The 800MHz dual-core processor is more than the poor 1450mAh non-removable battery can hold up for a day. And when you make a phone with a non-removable battery, the battery should be big (at least 1850mAh) otherwise it doesn't pay off.

Pros

  • Siri

Cons

  • Mostly everything else

The best gadget is the one that work better for us.

cameraman95 has owned it for less then month before publishing this review

Since I have the iPhone, I start to explore the whole internet watching reviews and critics about it. I was stunned.
People critic the iPhone for things that they want to have for their own because they think it's an standard. Here it's my iOpinion:

-No LTE: Where I live will never have 4g, and honestly, I think is not necessary to have a computer-like connection on the road. Sure the iPhone is capable to browser at a high speed, but I don't really need so much information. Maybe someone would think different.

-No Flash player: Flash turned to be the first subject of critics in the iPhone since it came out. Along there are a huge list of page webs that use flash, some of them have iOS app that you can use it. Maybe Steve Jobs was right about the dead of Flash... But it about the people.

-No NFC: As equal, my country doesn't have NFC point... Maybe it could in the future, but I don't think is necessary. In other hands, I think i'm the only one who think what would happen if someone steal my one, with all my account information in there. Can apple use one of the antennas as NFC?

-No radio: no commentary, I think this as a Con.

-Small screen: Come on!, you think I can carry a brick in my pocket so I can watch movies in a bus full of jealous people...

Sorry for that...
The small screen, along it have the disadvantage of being small, I can manipulate the phone with one hand.
It subjective. But I can't have a bigger phone in my pocket.

-Apple Lock: Ok, here is were we are going...

Build quality 8/10
I like the glass panel in the back, the is also scratch less, but feel fragile too.
Reception 7/10
Along it claim to have a good antenna, the first time I have some problems. I still have problems but it must be a software bug. Or maybe a carrier problem.
Call quality 8/10
The call quality is clear, but it could be better.
Internet 8/10
Safari is really fast. I really don't care about Flash since I don't use it.
Multimedia 9/10
Being half iPod made the iPhone really good for listening music and movies. But it could have more supposed formats.
Camera 8/10
Along the camera is Good, take in mind that is not as good in dark scenarios. The Video capturing is incredible. The iOS 5.1 camera shortcut is really useful. The front facing camera is not as good as I though.
UI speed 10/10
Along it's Underclocked to 800MHz, apple make a good job with the speed.
Everyday usage 10/10
Calendar, Notes, Reminders, iMessage, Siri and other things that make the iPhone good for Everyday usage.
Text input 9/10
Maybe it doesn't have a physical QWERTY keyboard like the Blackberry, But having a keyboard the can change language and Spell-Check is good to go.
Display 9/10
No doubt that the retina display is amazing. But the AMOLED of the Samsung Phones is really amazing too.
Battery 6/10
It could be better. Really... Maybe is software bug.

Pros

  • User-Friendly and easy-to-use Interface.
  • Personal assistant Siri.
  • Awesome camera and 1080p Video.
  • Really fast dual-core A5 Chip.
  • A rich and vast App store.
  • Awesome Retina Display.

Cons

  • Battery life.
  • No radio FM.
  • No Flash storage.
  • Feel a little fragile.
  • Not so customizable as android.
  • low-quality front facing camera.

This phone has much to offer over the 4. Siri maybe beta but it is better than anything else. It is smooth and the quality of games and other apps are the best. I have Androids that I am not using, they are not bad phones but too many issues for me. I know everyone wants to feel theirs is the best and it is truly a matter of preference. I much prefer the iPhone.

If you have an iPhone 4, I would not recommend upgrading unless you really want too. Just wait for the iPhone 5 and skip on the iPhone 4S. Siri is just in its BETA form and if you have to have it, get it on your jailbrocken iPhone 4.

Great step up from Android

c.hack has owned it for less then 3 months before publishing this review

After going through 3 Droids in 3 months all with buggy OS releases, I finally gave up and got the iPhones 4s with hesitation.

I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Pros
- The multitasking is even better than my DX2
- The phone never hesitates or stalls like all my Droids did
- The phone has been 100% stable - not a single crash in 5 weeks. My DX and DX2 would crash at least once / day
- The camera is awesome - and fast. Puts my old Droids to shame.
- Tons of accessories are available
- Very high quality screen - much better than any Moto Droid I ever used
- All the memory is actually available for apps (unlike Android)
- Great size for one handed use
- Great build quality
- Reception on VZW is as good as my DX and DX2 - much better than the HTC DInc and DInc2 my other family members have

Cons
- Glass back makes the phone fragile - needs a case
- Turn-by-turn nav is not as good as Android - solved with 99 cent app
- Wish the screen was bigger for seeing the nav

I have no regrets

Very good smart phone

hltechie has owned it for less then month before publishing this review

I have never owned an iPhone before this phone so I am new to all aspects of this phone. Needless to say I was very hyped up to buy this phone. Coming from using Microsoft, BlackBerry and Android OS, this interface seems very simplified compared to all three, although reminds me a lot of Android. The display is very vivid and very responsive to touch, this phone has never frozen or caused me any trouble. Everything is easy to sync, iTunes and iCloud make a lot of worry about loosing potential data go away. Thousands of apps to choose from and limitless amounts of music. Honestly I can find nothing wrong with this phone at all. Data is fast (for 3G), amazing camera, vivid screen, very user friendly, good battery life (for a smart phone), and over all feels very well built. Everyone has their different likings and dislikings when it comes to smart phones, every smart phone has it's pros and cons, where this phone might lack the security of BlackBerry or customization of Andriod, it makes up for it with simple interface, ease to sync, and fun over all. I have had many different types of smart phones over the years and with this phone I was looking for an easy to use phone that will not cause me any trouble, and that is exactly what I got.

Build quality 10/10
It does make me weary to have a phone with a glass front and back
Reception 10/10
Call quality 10/10
Internet 10/10
Fast for 3G speeds
Multimedia 10/10
Very easy to use iCloud and iTunes to sync everything
Camera 9/10
UI speed 10/10
Everyday usage 10/10
Text input 10/10
Display 10/10
Amazing screen! All colors are very vivid and bright.
Battery 9/10
It's a smart phone with one big screen, so yes it eats battery quickly. If you have the screen in use constantly and never turn off useless location settings then the battery will die sooner. If you are a wise smart phone user then you know how to milk the battery and make it last for 2 days like me.

Pros

  • Easy to sync
  • Very fast
  • Large number of apps to buy
  • Easy to use
  • User friendly

Cons

  • Glass front and back
  • $$$$

awesome phone. I've owned a lot of different phones including other iPhone models and this is the best phone that I've used. My only complaint is that the screen could be a bit bigger. I was hoping for a 4 in display. But at least now you can customize notification tones. Hoping an app such as zedge will be available for iOS.

I have been using iPhone since the first generation, and tried a few Android phones too (Motorola Atrix, Samsung Captivate and HTC Inspire) at the end I always end up with Apple iPhone again, cause the simplicity. I just hated to spend hours to flash and flash the room on my Android phone just to make it run smoother.

Pros

So I upgraded from the iPhone 4 32 gb to the iPhone 4S 64 gb. I had an initial problem with Siri where it couldnt find the network connection. One of the blogs recommended turning off Siri, turning off the phone than restarting. It worked. Now I can play! Siri is a tad slower than the commercials, but I am getting used to it. The speed of the phone is better, and I am noticing a slight change in battery power. Overall, glad I upgraded and will be looking forward to the iPhone 5!

Got a white 16g 4s on release day from sprint. Went from evo 4g. Not really much of a huge upgrade honestly. I really like the iPhone 4s so far but it really isn't much faster if any than my evo (and I'm talking 3G). IOS5 is a nice operating system but android is just as nice and it really just boils down to opinion as to which is better. The small screen is my only huge complaint with my iPhone. (aside from the lack of free music apps). Also when browsing web pages such as phone arena the phone will not auto fit the text boxes to fit the screen after the initial double tap zoom which is REALLY ANNOYONG because you have to keep sliding the screen back and forth to read. ( like I'm doing now). Battery life is much better than my friends regular iPhone 4 in a side by side comparison. Siri is cool but it doesn't process your requests near as fast as it shows on te commercials. Honestly if my evo hadn't developed a dead spot on the screen from its 10000000 th drop I would probably have waited for the iPhone 5. Still, not a bad phone.
