THL 2015 leaks out: octa-core chip and a fingerprint scanner on a budget
The THL 2015 was supposed to get unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in the beginning of March in Barcelona, but obviously something in the plans changed and the phone has leaked out in its entirety, along with the retail box.

The THL 2015 is one of the new generation of China-made smartphones featuring the new octa-core MediaTek MT6752L 64-bit system chip, and it also packs a fingerprint scanner on its back for added security. It’s a 5-inch smartphone with a 1080 x 1920-pixel display, but one can notice the fairly thick bezels.

The early release unfortunately results in this phone running on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box rather than the newer Android 5.0 Lollipop, but we are hoping to see it updated in the near future.

Here are the spec highlights for the THL 2015:

  • 5-inch 1080 x 1920-pixel display
  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat
  • 1.7GHz octa-core MT6752L 64-bit SoC
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage, supports microSD expansion cards
  • 13-megapixel rear camera, 8MP selfie cam
  • 2700mAh battery
In terms of connectivity, this is a dual SIM device with both SIMs supporting 4G LTE at the following bands: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 900/2100MHz, FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B20.

At a price of $239.99 (off contract, of course), this is still a bit more expensive than competitors like the JiaYu S3. Take a look at the THL 2015 right below.
