Samsung's 'Galaxy S8' trademark application? Yep, filed with the USPTO

It's happening, people, Samsung has applied for a "Galaxy S8" trademark here in the good ol' USA. Historically, these applications have preceded the imminent announcement of the phones in the S-series, so an S8 flagship launch on this side of the pond is wrapped in relative certainty now.

There is no S8 edge or S8 Plus application in the USPTO database for now, though oftentimes the agencies that file those trademark applications on behalf of corporate juggernauts like Samsung, are only trademarking the base name which is enough for a commercial launch, with model variations excluded to save on fees and paperwork.
