OnePlus One to get a stable Android Lollipop / CyanogenMod 12 update next month
Adventurous OnePlus One owners can already install an alpha version of an Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM, or a CyanogenMod 12 nightly build on their handsets, but what about a final, stable update to Lollipop? Well, this should be available pretty soon, and it’s coming from Cyanogen.

According to Android Central, Cyanogen founder Steve Kondik confirmed that current plans are to offer a final Cyanogen OS 12 build (based on Lollipop) to OnePlus One users next month (February). As previously reported, customers who are buying the OnePlus One from India should not expect to receive updates from Cyanogen. Instead, they'll have to wait for OnePlus to polish its own Android 5.0 ROM.

Meanwhile, after selling about 1 million OnePlus One handsets, OnePlus is busy with the development on the OnePlus Two, which should be introduced in the second, or third quarter of this year. Even more, another, different new smartphone from the company could be released this year - reportedly, this one could cater more to users who “appreciate design over specs.”
