Forever Young: Samsung lifts cover off Galaxy Young affordable smartphone
Share:
The Galaxy Young is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with its “Project Butter” for smooth transitions, and it is powered by a 1GHz processor (of yet unannounced kind) and 768MB of RAM.
The device is pretty thick at 0.49 inches (12.5 mm) but its compact size allows it not to be too heavy at 3.95 oz (112 g).
The Galaxy Young features a basic 3-megapixel camera with no LED flash. It is capable of recording VGA videos at 24fps, and plays back up to WVGA recordings at 30fps.
Internal storage is 4GB, but expandable via microSD cards of up to 64GB. The device has a 1,300mAh battery. Price and availability were not yet announced but we don’t see any reason why Samsung would delay this much and price should be at the very low end of the Android market.

People say ugly and all .. !
but i like this ..
Samsung doing this is not because they dont know design and all ..
all they want is " BRAND Recognition " ..
Now any people can understand even from distance.. it is SAMSUNG !
Good Move.samsung is in profit brand as well as WORLD NO1 brand..they even spend 12 Billion dollars just for research ..
nobody can oppose samsung..if they do it.. they just jealous.. what else i can say ?
Samsung Galaxy Grand,Samsung Galaxy Express,Samsung Galaxy SIII mini,Samsung Galaxy Primier , Now Samsung Galaxy Young II These all will be great hit and updation old models like Samsung Galaxy Young , Ace , Galaxy SII etc !! :)
if i get opprtunity to work with samsung.. i will do.. but am just 12th std student...but that is my ambition .. not to become Doctor,IAS etc.

You are such a Samsung Fanboy .
The truth is most Samsung mobile are overrated !
Although 768mb ram on the a low end device is actually kind of healthy .

68GB total memory, so a budget phone that's got a micro sd with more total memory than the Nexus 4, DROID DNA and Nexus 10, combine their maximum memory together and you get the same amount as the Young!

But with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and 176ppi, i don't think it'll be that popular among people who care about what they look at.

Samsung have got to Realise after one of the mistakes releasing the Galaxy S3,that Black is the most Popular colour with Consumers,an they would have sold more S3s if Black was released Firstly

yes, the very first Galaxy Young 3" cost no more than us$ 120 and Galaxy Young Duos (dual sim) 3.5" cost us$ 165. I don't know this new Young version. The first version is capable of wide range of functionality but limited in compactibility of kernel function. but for novice user, its features, functionality and smartphone experiemce is more than enough.
800mhz cpu, 256 ram, 196 mb internal (expandable up to 64 gb), basic 3d gpu, 2 mpx camera fixed focus no led, vga 24fps.

Samsung really loves to take a design and run with it. It's like the GS3 has been shrunken and enlarged.
