Acer's Liquid Z500 Android phone is here to offer
Apart from announcing the Iconia One 8, Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia W8 tablets at IFA 2014, Acer today also revealed the Liquid Z500 - a brand new, relatively affordable Android smartphone.

According to Acer, the Liquid Z500 offers a “CD quality” music experience, supporting 16-bit, 44KHz FLAC and WAV playback, and featuring “advanced” HD stereo speakers with DTS Studio Sound. The handset sports a 5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels and high contrast (900:1). On the back, the Acer Liquid Z500 has an 8 MP autofocus camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. The camera comes with Acer’s Bright Magic technology that should improve photos taken in low light conditions.

The new Liquid smartphone is 8.65mm-thin, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat customized with Acer’s own UI. We've yet to find out more details about the handset - including the processor that's powering it, the amount of RAM, and so on.

Acer will start selling the Liquid Z500 on September 15 in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The handset’s recommended retail price is €149 ($195), and customers will be able to choose between three color versions: Titanium Black, Aquamarine Green, and Sandy Silver. Interested?

900:1 is very low contrast compared to other smartphones...

Yes, but still they can't say that the display is "high-contrast"...

Maybe they should call it "CD quality contrast" :)

If 149 euros includes VAT then it's a good price.
As for teh SoC , it's a A7 based Mediatek , there are some hands on videos that have the info.
