Worm Run arrives on Android, endless running ensues
Worm Run, an endless runner game developed by Golden Ruby Games, has been released for Android devices. The game came into existence after it was crowdfunded on Kickstarter back in 2012. Worm Run was initially launched on iOS almost a year ago.

Worm Run tells the story of Zeke Tallahassee, a "hapless space janitor in the wrong place at the wrong time". Zeke is trapped in a never-ending underground labyrinth. And he is not alone. An enormous (and probably very hungry) worm is pursuing Zeke. The space janitor has to run and jump as fast as he can if he wants to evade the bloodthirsty jaws of the carnivorous creature. Unfortunately for Zeke, the labyrinth is full of obstacles that stand in his way and significantly slow him down. In addition, the gigantic worm will never stop chasing Zeke, and will sooner or later consume him. However, the protagonist can slow down the abominable creature for a while by using various power-ups and weapons.

The gameplay of Worm Run is quite simple. All you have to do is try to evade the big bad worm for as long as possible, while trying to collect Grubies, which are the game's currency and can be used for purchasing upgrades and power-ups that help Zeke last longer against the enormous creature. Controlling the character is simple, too – all running and jumping is performed by swiping the screen in the desired direction.

The "procedurally generated maps" are one of the more interesting features of Worm Run. Every time you start it, the game will generate a new map, which "keeps up with the player". There are five different worlds in Worm Run, and each comes with different theme and its own set of obstacles and power-ups.

If endless runner games are your cup of tea, Worm Run will most probably suit your liking. The game is priced at $0.99 and is currently available for download on both Google Play and iTunes. According to the developers, the Windows Phone version of the game will be released very soon and will "be getting a big marketing push from Microsoft".
