Verizon's LG Intuition to launch online September 6th, and in stores on the 10th
Verizon customers were probably more than just a little miffed that the carrier didn't include the hot selling Samsung GALAXY Note phablet in its lineup. So Big Red went out and snatched up the LG Optimus Vu with its 5 inch screen, as a phablet for its customers to buy. First was the name change, to the LG Intuition, and now comes the launch. According to an internal Verizon publication, the square screened device will be released for online sales on September 6th followed by an all-channels launch on September 10th. An earlier leak showed that the LG Intuition will be priced at $199.99 with a signed two-year pact.

The LG Intuition offers a 5 inch LCD screen with resolution of 768 x 1024, resulting in a pixel density of 256ppi. The 4:3 aspect ratio results in a boxier screen than found on most devices, and a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 processor is under the hood. The device has 1GB of RAM on board and offers 32GB  of native storage. The 8MP camera on back captures video in 1080p, while the 1.3MP front-facing camera is perfect for self-portraits and video chat. A 2080mAh battery keeps the gerbils running on the wheel and Android 4.0.4 is installed out of the box. The latest Optimus UI runs on top of Android.

Besides this model, there is speculation that HTC will be gracing Verizon with a 5 inch phablet with a 1080p display. That, though, is speculation while the LG Intuition will soon be available in the, uh, flesh.

>A 2080mAh battery keeps the gerbils running on the wheel LOLOLOLOL Anyway, this actually isn't that bad of a device. I thought that it was originally coming with a crappier processor and Gingerbread. I'll make sure to try it out...

I'd rather wait for the Galaxy Note 2, more screen real estate in a more manageable form. Then again I'm the type to prefer 4:3 ratios on desktops/ laptops and phones should sport 16:9 or 16:10. Hopefully the GN2 will be available on Verizon along with the HTC "Phablet" for a side by side comparison.

This is a great story that someone who writes for P.A can check into...any taker?. (Scott or Michael) If possible find out what Samsung and their Atty thinks about this. LG iPad.

Nice find dude! Thumbs up! Date: 2001-03-23. "LG's new Digital iPad comes with an Integrated Web browser and Linux-based MP3 and MPEG4 players and can connect to the Internet over a wireless 802.11lb LAN that reaches up to 100 meters, according to the company. A spokesman for LG at CeBIT said that the product may come with other connectivity solutions, however, including possibly a "PDA style slot" for mobile phones." Gee I wonder where did Apple got the "iPad" name inspiration... Rather than just "iPad", I'd say the whole "iName" thing. Apple's iPod was announced 6-7 months after LG's "iPad" demonstation. So... someone liked that name branding, I guess. The picture in that post looks too fuzy to tell, but it almost looks like a rectangle with round corners and a home button in the center ?

Yeah exactly my first impression. I was thinking why doesn't LG sue Apple, since they've already released an iPad device.

It seems like this planet is about a year to late if it wants to compete with the note. Unless it unsubsidized price is $300 wich I doubt it should not do well especially if the note 2 is released on Verizon soon

I don't think the note 2 will make its way to vzw. Vzw is releasing the LG Intuition and supposedly releasing the 5inch HTC phablet. That pretty much says they're going to pass on the note 2 like how they passed on the note 1.

I agree it doesn't make much sense to have 3 phablets on one carrier but the specs of the LG and HTC phablets don't look like they can compete with the Note so maybe Verison will just be late to carry it hopefully not as late as Tmo was

Tmobile users must be mad how they got the note very late and now the note 2 is being released. Vzw really missed out on passing on the note 1 and I think they are trying to make up for it with the LG and HTC phablets. The specs of the note 2 does look very appealing, especially the battery. I personally like the LG Intuition.

This is off subject but, is it really necessary to hire professional models just to hold smartphones?

Isn't it better than having an old dude holding it?

unfortunatley this is to little to late verizon. We want the note 2. Making this phone slitely bigger then the sgs3 makes this pointless when the sgs 3 has better specs and is as ungly looking. I see this being a flop and then verizon being afraid of the next phablet hopefully im wrong.
