Verizon with a swivel phone by Nokia?
Okay, guys, we think we might have a story here. Well, thing is this may prove to be either a bold maneuver by Verizon and Nokia or merely a mock pipe-dream unit, but you know what they say – everything is possible. BGR has provided a quite “illustrating” and detailed drawing, based on first impressions of the mysterious handset. Such a QWERTY swivel device is rumored to be launched by Big Red soon, but you better keep in mind that according to the source, the phone is to run the Series 40 interface, which automatically makes it non-smart. So, unless this is a complete waste of time, what we expect is yet another budget-oriented device targeting heavy-texting users.

That phone looks stupid. It will end up in the pile with the rest of the crappy phones that look cool for about 2 minutes...

Most people will conclude that this is a stupid idea for a phone much faster than two minutes... more like two seconds! But you know we could all be made fools of if this stupid idea actually turns out decent.

In a world where Microsoft products not only survive, but dominate, you can't count on the general public to have the good graces to avoid crap. If anything, MS products show that the general public is more than willing to consume actual crap if it's packaged properly. Thus, unfortunately, even as crappy as that product format looks, if Verizon and Nokia market it well, it could be the next big thing in mobile devices.

Or it could suck with everyone breaking it at it's one whole point of contact. Like the Juke, anyone? I hope it's good, though. I would like to sell it, as it looks cheap and would make me loads o' money's... Like the Juke, anyone?

in a RECESSION most people aren't willing to pay for the required data plan on a smart phone and heavy texters will love it! i, being a teenager, am actually really excited to see this... looks interesting

looks like a a smart choice for VZW seeing that they dont have any good non-smart horizontal QWERTY phones
