Verizon releases the Samsung Omnia II on 1 November?
Last week we told you that the Samsung Omnia II looked rather conspicuous by its absence in the latest rebate sheet of Verizon and that we expected to see the device hit the shelves sometime around the Black Friday. We have just been tipped off that the carrier plans to launch the Samsung Omnia II i920 on the first day of the coming month. According to our tipster, the information comes from a reliable source, so we do hope the rumor is to be officially confirmed soon.

Samsung showcased the said handset with Verizon´s logo on it at CTIA Fall 2009, but failed to mention anything about possible release date or retail price. At least we know the American version of the Omnia II will be identical to the European and we will be able to enjoy the beautiful  3.7-inch AMOLED screen, 5-megapixel camera capturing videos at resolution of 720x480 pixels and great multimedia capabilities of device really soon. According to information gathered at the above-mentioned event, the Omnia II will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 and a software update to version 6.5 will become available later on. However, we tend to think this is precisely the reason behind the market delay and Verizon will release the handset with WM6.5. Anyway, we are bound to find out whether or not this is the case soon, perhaps in just 14 days.
