Verizon's newest rebate form dated February 16 - March 31 have two new phones listed, the Motorola DEVOUR and Casio G'zOne Brigade. The Motorola DEVOUR will offer a $100 rebate and will be the first Android smartphone on Verizon to include the MotoBLUR user interface and Flash Lite 3.1 in the mobile HTML Browser. I will agree, Verizon's lineup looks a little under-whelming. I am not bashing Verizon. I am a Verizon customer and I think their service is great and their customer service has been good too. However, I feel their phone lineup could be kicked up a notch or 2. I think it has been solid (and is getting better), but it always seems like they are second or third of the big carriers when it comes to offering new, high quality handsets. Don't get me wrong. I think the droid phones and the Palm phones are good phones (hence Verizon's handsets are getting better and I haven't checked the windows phones out much), but I feel they are missing a phone or 2 that really blows the competition away with its looks and ease of use. I think they need 1 or 2 phones that really defines the company. Maybe that phone hasn't been made yet. My ideal phone would have a 3.5-3.7 inch touch-screen. No Keyboard. Would weigh no more than 4.75 ounces. Be around .50 inch thick (possibly a little thinner). Have a fast, smooth running OS. Have access to a large quantity of apps. Have solid battery life. I am sure there are more things, but those seem to be the glaring qualities right now. Whether that phone is made by HTC, Apple, Motorola, Nokia, whoever and whether its Android, Apple, or Windows operating system I don't care. I just want it to be user friendly. I hope something like that comes to Verizon sometime this year. Hopefully sooner than later!

In case you guys haven't been paying attention, verizon is getting the nexus one in a month or 2. which actually perfectly fits your description for an ideal phone, kappy. not to mention the droid, eris, omnia 2, palms, tour, storm 2, imagio, touchpro 2, env touch, rogue, etc... Meanwhile AT&T is still lacking palm and android.... In fact, I can't think of a desirable AT&T phone outside of iphone and bold. correct me if i'm wrong

Oh I have been and the Nexus won't be available in Verizon stores. They have had a TERRIBLE time with customer service through Google. I'm not going to purchase a phone I can't go into a Verizon store for service with it. Now if they offer the Incredible then I'll be on it. Droid DOESN'T fit my descripion. It's quite heavy (almost 6 ounces) and has a keyboard. The Eris' screen is smaller than I would like and its OS is outdated. The palm phones are somewhat nice, but yet lacking. Not a big fan of their OS and apps? The Omnia 2 is heavier than I would like and has more lag than I'd care to deal with. The Imagio and TP2 are heavy and running a lame windows OS. The last phones you mentioned aren't smart phones, so I am not interested in them. Yes I am picky when it comes to my phones, but if I am going to pay a nice chunk of money for it and be stuck with it for 2 years, I want to be happy and satisfied with the qualities I mentioned above. I didn't even mention ATT in my post or any other service provider. Just said I felt VZW gets quality phones later than the other providers. As I said before, I am not bashing Verizon. Just not a huge fan of their phones. I love their coverage and service. So RELAX. It'll be okay. No need to get worked up little guy.
