T-Mobile's Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the LG G3 set to roll out soon

T-Mobile's Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the LG G3 set to roll out soon
If you're a T-Mobile subscriber who owns an LG G3, you're probably a bit upset at the fact that your device still hasn't received Android 5.0 Lollipop, an Android version that Google launched back in October 2014.

Fortunately, it looks like your wait will soon be over, as T-Mobile's senior product manager, Des Smith, recently took to Twitter to announce that the update was approved by the testing team and will start rolling out soon.

In Europe, the LG G3 was updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop as early as December, and even Verizon was able to beat T-Mobile to the punch by rolling out the update a couple of months ago. T-Mobile started testing the new software version for the LG G3 back in early April as well, but it looks like something went wrong with the update, and a new build had to be created.

LG's implementation of Android 5.0 Lollipop on the LG G3 brings all the things that make Lollipop a significant step forward compared to Android 4.4 KitKat, such as a new user interface, a new lock screen, a new multitasking screen, as well as the new 64-bit ART runtime.

At the moment, we don't have any further details, such as an exact release date for the OTA update or more info on the extra goodies (if any) that the update will bring, but we'll let you know as soon as more information is available.

And people were bashing Sony for late updating their entire Z lineup and 2nd and 3rd gen low and mid range.

My nephew and I have had Lollipop for at least 2 months now, and it was OTA. it's a definite improvement. Next to no lag now.

No lag? That's a straight up LIE. Lollipop pretty much ruins this phone. I can't even swipe through my home screens without an obnoxious amount of lag. Embarrassing.

Unfortunate for you man. My phone was laggy as hell before 5.~, to the point where I wanted to go back to the Z1s. After the update, my nephew and I seen major improvements in performance to the point where we love our phones even more. If it makes a difference, all I do with my phone is call, text, search the Web, and listen to music, . No apps, no social media, no games

My LG G3 was a bit laggy before Lollipop and after Lollipop it was borderline unusable. I replaced it with a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I am never looking back.

I have had the OTA update to 5.0.1 for a couple of months now.. Maybe it's the faulty one, because I've noticed that the battery drains a looot quicker.. just won't cut it to the end of the day..

Hope it's better than the Verizon version for the G3. Lost Bluetooth capability with my car stereo, even after factory reset. Pining for 5.1.1 and hope it comes sooner rather than later

Wow I thought I was the only one. It sucks now. I have to use the aux cable. Come on Verizon, please fix it.

Non story, have had update for along time. Hoping its a typo and referring to 5.1, otherwise this is dumb.
