T-Mobile Microsoft Lumia 435 priced at just $50 at Walmart off-contract

T-Mobile Microsoft Lumia 435 priced at just $50 at Walmart off-contract
If you're a T-Mobile subscriber looking for a cheap Windows handset, Walmart might have exactly what you're looking for. The entry-level Microsoft Lumia 435 is now available for just $49.88, down from its usual retail price of $95.

That money will get you a brand new Microsoft Lumia 435 that only works on T-Mobile, but you don't need to sign a contract to take advantage of the offer.

The Lumia 435 is an entry-level handset that features specs such as a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of integrated storage space, and a microSD card slot that accepts cards of up to 128GB. In the camera department, the Lumia 435 comes with a 2MP primary camera and a VGA secondary shooter on the front. All of these components are powered by a 1560mAh removable battery.

While camera performance is certainly not something to write home about, the Lumia 435 will get the job done if you're not looking beyond basic tasks. The handset doesn't come with a 4G LTE modem, but it is compatible with T-Mobile's HSPA+ network.

The Microsoft Lumia 435 currently runs Windows Phone 8.1, but the handset is set to receive Windows 10 Mobile when the new operating system launches later this year.

What do you guys think of this offer? Is the Lumia 435 underpowered by your current standards?

WOW a great bargain for a smartphone which looks to have everything, except a sub par camera, but still a cut back has to be made some where. great phone for kids as nokia=tough $50=BARGAIN :)

No, no, no, no, no, no, NO. This is not a good deal. The Nokia Lumia 635 has much better specs and comes cheaper. At least I got mine for around $45. This phone should only get bought by Wal-Mart shoppers who don't have a clue about prices and are just needing a phone without doing any research. I bet this phone eventually drops to $30-$40 sometime later this year. I'd hold out if I were you, unless you just don't care.

635 was on sale, it's normal price point is 100 at Walmart. Even Tmobile has the used one listed for 70. You cannot compare firesale prices to move a device against its real price. That is like comparing the original 200 dollar L90 that was going for 50 bucks at one point. It is now back up to like 149.

Fifty dollars is a rather desperate price...

It's a price war with budget phones at the moment. Many OEMs are partaking, especially MS because it is an easy way to get market share fast.

They need every piece of market share they can get, especially since they are sitting at 2.5% of the market right now since Q1 2015.

Smartphones that are of quality are so affordable right, a couple years ago it would be hard to find a smartphone with a good hardware experience great software experience at this price point. Sgodsell give it a rest bro we know that you've sold your soul to Google but not need to continuously hate. Live at let live regardless of marketshare.

That's some killer pricing from Microsoft. In a few years, it may dominate the low end market.

I honestly think that MSFT has flooded the low end market and one can easily get a 5xx or 6xx series phone for about the same price. I know this phone and price would appeal to many people, especially as one poster said about shoppers at WalMart that see an attractive price... But I would pass on this phone and (as the poster said as well) opt for a 6xx series Lumia for same amount of money!

I went to Walmart to day and I saw the 640 with only $100. If so who would buy this? the 640 is the real deal

Yeah 640 is better than this and worth the price. 6xx series is the most valuable MS phones for price.
