Supposedly the first real pictures of Motorola MPx220 smartphone are available


Rumors about Motorola MPx220 – the successor of Motorola's Microsoft for Mobiles Smartphone platform phone MPx220 have been circulation the NET. Most of the pictures were of course fake.
Yesterday, a short flash animation was posted in the forums of MoDaCo. It shows the clamshell opened / closed and asserts the notion that Motorola MPx220 will be equipped with camera and Bluetooth. Different sources report different screen sizes – 176 x 220 or 165 x 220.
The tentative physical dimensions are 3.5” x 1.9” x 1.1” (89 x 48 x 27 mm) with weight of 4oz (113 g).
The phone was expected to be available near the end of the fist quarter of 2004, but a recent report from DigiTimes said the phone will be delayed until June.

Other preliminary specifications are:

  • Bluetooth
  • 640 x 480 camera
  • Clamshell design
  • OS: Microsoft Mobile 2003 for Smartphones
  • 900/1800/1900 Mhz operation (global roaming)
  • TFT 65k colors 165 x 220 pixels display
