Sony to unveil a "new flagship product" next week, possibly a global Xperia Z4

Sony to unveil a
Sony is getting ready to host press events on May 27 in Taiwan, and on May 28 in Hong Kong, where, according to local media, the company will unveil a "new Xperia flagship product," alongside the selfie-friendly Xperia C4 and the Xperia Z4 Tablet.

ePrice Taiwan assumes that Sony is planning to showcase a global variant of the Xperia Z4 at both events. Last month, Sony announced a Japan-only Xperia Z4, saying that a global version of it would be introduced at the end of May. So we could, indeed, see the promised global Z4 during next week's events.

The global Xperia Z4 may be called Xperia Z3+. It's not clear if the handset will be identical to the Japanese one, but we hope not. As you may already know, the Z4 that's been introduced in Japan isn't too different from last year's Xperia Z3 (though it's slightly thinner, and certainly more powerful, thanks to the fact that it features an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor).

Sony will also host an event on May 26 in India, but for now we can't be sure that this is also related to a flagship device.

Not long ago, we heard that the Sony Xperia Z4 (its global variant, of course) would be launched by Verizon in the US. We assume the handset will eventually make it to other markets, but don't get your hopes up just yet.

I have to disagree. Sony products have an amazing battery life that dexterous the competition. If it's means to do it is to have a sealed battery, then I'm definitely in.

Hey dude! Most top smartphones these days have the quick charging technology, but the problem is that it takes you at least 60 minutes from 0% to 100%. Meanwhile, with a removable battery you just get a fresh one in just three seconds.

idc what people say the z4's design is still beautiful. a change would be nice but honestly it still looks better than any other phone.

But white looks pretty ugly, white Z2 was looking gorgeous because of black bars surrounding the screen, it looked really incredible, but now it looks like the phone is stuck in some cheap etui with hole for screen.

We can just agree that aesthetics is a subjective topic. I adore omnibalance design, and Z4 is the best take of the design yet.

Yeah, it's only personal opinion :) But it's a shame that for example Z3 C in red and green version had those black bars and white had not. Btw. Couldn't you find longer link? :)

"2 day battery life" probably won't happen with the SD810. Hopefully they use the SD805 or 808 also to undercut competition.

Calling the global Z4 a Z3+ would be really confusing because Verizon will probably call it's version of the Z4 a Z4v-.

What I find more interesting is that Verizon which is the largest U.S. carrier is selling another Sony phone, could this mean that the Z3v is selling well for them?

Doubtful, I work at verizon and all the reps have the phone and we all use our ps4 controllers on modern combat 5 on our breaks but we can only sell the phone if someone asks. Other then that every average Joe that gets "sold" a phone which is 90% of customers dont even know it exists, due to horrible profit for the store let alone The compan. Sony is only 99cents on contract too haha and free on edge if you have over 6gb of data, Sony puts out good deals for the customer, not the sales man, and we sell the phones, dont get me wrong I love the phone but Sony doesnt market right, sure they have a good price but if never see the price then it doesnt work. I literally get in trouble for pitching the phone.

I don't understand why the off brand Chinese manufacturer stuffs the large battery's in, but mainstream sony, HTC, Samsung skimp out.

Because optimization is more important that capacity. I've seen phones with batteries less than 3000 mAh destroy phones with 4000+ mAh in battery life. I care about the actual battery life and not the mAh rating.

Am I the only one who cares more about the z4 compact me than the z4 itself.
