Sony Xperia XZ Premium now up for pre-order in the UK, hits the shelves in early June

One of the most technologically advanced smartphones introduced last month at Mobile World Congress, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be making its debut on the market in early June.
Although Sony did not disclose any details about the smartphone's availability, a couple of UK retailers are now taking pre-orders for the Xperia XZ Premium.
Unlocked-mobile has the best deal on the Xperia XZ Premium as customers can buy one for £640. The other two UK-based retailers, Amazon and Clove, are selling the flagship for £650.
However, Unlocked-mobiles offers the smartphone in two colors, Deepsea Black, and Luminous Chrome, while Amazon and Clove sell the Deepsea Black version only.
Customers who pre-order the Xperia XZ Premium through either of the three retailers won't be getting the phone until early June.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium was the only smartphone announced at MWC 2017 to pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, which is probably the reason the flagship won't hit the shelves until June.
It's also one of the few to come with a Motion Eye camera, which can shoot slow-motion videos (4x slower than any other phone) and can even take pictures before the shutter is pressed.
Due to its late launch, the Xperia XZ Premium will have to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, which are expected to go on sale on April 28. But Sony's flagship seems to have what it takes to withstand Samsung's assault, don't you think?
- Display 5.5" 2160 x 3840 pixels
- Camera 19 MP / 13 MP front
- Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, Octa-core, 2450 MHz
- Storage 64 GB + microSDXC
- Battery 3230 mAh(24.7h 3G talk time)

and by june, lots of other flagships had already launched, including S8, HTC 11, OP4 (or OP5), axon8, Mi6.. probably you could even find discounted S8 for a bit more than 650EUR at june.. (or wait 2-3 more months for pixels and note8)

Agreed. Sony is on the hunt for market share. They have financially fixed their business. Now they need to attack. I like that.

With all the specs that this smartphone has for only 650. Sony is coming out swinging with the first 4k hdr 5.5" display, with the first 960 fps camera, with standard 64 GB of expandable storage, with the latest SD 835. This device is priced under what other flagship devices are going for. This is well worth the price.

I think if those other flagships are priced much higher at $800, $900, or even a $1000, than lots of people might be willing to wait for Sony's new flagship at the beginning of the summer. You are talking of upwards of $350 savings to wait a month or two longer.

History shows Sony flagships cost the same or just a little bit more than any other flagships but Iphones, and the XZ Premium will most likely cost the same as Samsung's S8+. In the US, Australia and other western countries, most flagships are bought together with a plan meaning its easier to buy so price wont make a difference.

i agree with u tbh.but june time is a bit far n by the sammy n lg will release their flagships...hope they fixed the camera software algorithm n the f.20 aperture is quite dated.other than that sony phones r reliable and good

The aperture of a camera cannot be dated. It's a camera aperture. It's not software. It's the lens design. The difference between f2.0 and f1.7 is not much. Add to the fact the Sonys camera has a larger sensor, makes the difference even smaller.

I want to like this phone cuz I think it really has a killer design. But people are right. There's simply too much bezel resulting in ancient screen to body vs upcoming competitors. Bezels perfectly acceptable if talking about 2-3 yrs ago, but not 2017 and after.
