Sony Xperia XZ Premium gets a new Bronze Pink color variation

Sony's 2017 flagship, the Xperia XZ Premium, will be available in one additional color variation upon release. The Japanese tech giant took to Twitter to announce a brand new "Bronze Pink" hue for the device.

As you may know, Sony managed to surprise many at this year's MWC with the introduction of the XZ Premium. Although the large bezels on the phone look a bit passé after the announcements of the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, the handset certainly makes up for it in the hardware department. It features the powerful Snapdragon 835 chipset, a 5.5-inch 4K HDR display, and a new 19 MP main camera that can shoot super slow motion videos at 960 fps. The addition of a new color variation is certainly welcome, as Sony only unveiled two shades for the XZ Premium back at the show in Barcelona - Deepsea Black and Luminous Chrome.

Satoshi Aoyagi, Xperia's color designer, has shared his thoughts on the new hue:

We wanted to find a colour that represented a feeling of warmth whilst at the same time exemplifying the premium features and design. The bronze metallic finish adds a feeling of depth to the glass on the front and back. Also just like the other colours every part of the Xperia XZ Premium Bronze Pink has been expertly crafted – such as the top and bottom edges, which are carefully diamond cut and creates an added shine. It’s a chic addition to the choice of colours offered with XZ Premium.

What do you think about the new XZ Premium shade? Are you planning on getting Sony's new flagship? Let us know in the comments!

So? ME for example - i do not like bazeless phones, because often can touch the screen without intention and that's not so comfortable for work. Maybe bottom and top bazels can be small, but it's ok. Different people, different opinions.

So what? It still looks like a beauty comparing to LG G6 which, despite its minimal bezels, looks like old TV. By comparison the XZ Premium looks expensive and precisely made.

"Sony loves sticking with the same 5 year old design"
As with almost all smartphone OEMs, it's called "design language".

No rose gold is much more pink. This has an earthy brown mixed in.

Bronze pink looks great very distinctive and it looks like a unisex color. I personally like the luminous chrome the best it looks edgy, cool!

Unjustified top and bottom bezels size. The top and bottom bezel size could be justified if they implemented htc one like speakers, but they didn't.

I hate to say this, but you should probably see the article where in MWC, Sony engineers performed a teardown of the XZ Premium. The PCB inside is crafted in an L-shape for a reason, thus giving it a large forehead. To compensate for the large forehead, Sony put a large 1/2.3" rear camera sensor and a 1/3.06" front camera sensor. To maintain their "OmniBalance" design aesthetic, Sony decided to make the chin bar just as large as the top bezel, but to compensate for the wasted space, they put a second speaker, thus giving way to stereo speakers. About the HTC One speaker grille, it's just aesthetic, only one side of each grille is firing sound.(e.g. Top grille has the speaker located on the right side only)

Would've been better if they decided on blue hue they used in ZX and ZXs.

If you want powerful internals that won't be weighed down by obtrusive resource hog skin (touchwizz, Lg), this phone is it. If you're looking for the minimal bezel trend look, this is obviously not it. Lol... I'm waiting for the right combination of both regardless of oem should I upgrade again.
