Samsung's first Snapdragon 710 phone will also sport three rear cameras, taller aspect ratio

Although the commercial name still remains unclear, the smartphone’s model number has now been revealed as SM-G8870. This particular device will follow in the footsteps of Samsung’s recent launches by adopting a tall Infinity Display. However, unlike the current AMOLED panels that make use of an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, this new one is set to be stretched to the newer 19.5:9 ratio which is also set to be used on next year’s Galaxy S10.

In light of Samsung’s recent focus on cameras, the upcoming device will adopt a triple-sensor layout on the rear, similar to the one seen on the Galaxy A7 (2018). At the moment, no information about the storage or RAM counts has been revealed. However, the smartphone is expected to feature a relatively small 3,000mAh battery which will presumably be paired with Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

Considering the expected release date of January, an announcement in late December seems highly likely. The smartphone will be marketed as part of the Galaxy A series and, due to the processor inside, will likely be positioned above the Galaxy A9 (2018).
