Samsung's new ads take aim at Apple's accessories and Genius Bar

Samsung has a long history of throwing shade at Apple and its fans. This dates all the way back to 2011 when Sammy produced an ad showing Apple fans waiting on line to buy the iPhone 4s. Suddenly, a Samsung Galaxy S II owner happens nearby and all of a sudden, that phone is getting all the attention except for one laid back guy who says, "I could never get a Samsung. I'm too creative." His pal comes up with a great put down line. "Dude, You're a barista." Samsung milked that line, giving away t-shirts with the comment plastered in front. It still remains a great ad, and you can watch it by clicking on the video at the top of this article.

Fast forward seven years, and while the iPhone still is the iPhone, Samsung has taken the success of the Galaxy S series and parlayed it into the top global market share among smartphone manufacturers. So yeah, the rivalry continues.

Samsung has released four commercials that make fun of iPhone accessories and the Genius Bar. The commercials also make it clear that in the opinion of Samsung, the Galaxy S9 is really the phone that these consumers should be buying. In the ads, a Genius Bar employee advocates the use of "double dongles," and suggests the purchase of a used PC and adapter to support fast charging on the iPhone X. Another ad suggests that Genius Bar employees give answers colored by their loyalty to the brand. Actually, all four ads hint at that.

Check out all the commercials, which we've embedded directly below.

Now about the part where Samsung stops supporting upgrades to new Android releases after 2 years, vs 5+ years for iPhone...

What about the part where Apple phones don't explode? Ouuuuu here comes the it's 2018 bro, get over it. Followed by the "Steve Jobs said noone will buy a large phone from 2010 (was it?)" Yeah, it's allowable not to get over that apparently.

You might want to come up with some more original material at this point. That horse has been played out for two years now.

And the joke goes over even more Samsung fanboy heads. Guess it still hurts even after all this time, the shame that came from the Note 7, you lot can’t even see the humor in it.

I am not a Samsung fan but I have to say that Samsung took ownership of their issues and recall the phone twice they even return money to customers who purchased the note 7. Apple iPhones have more issues with the Sim card reader, battery, the audio chip, the touch id, phone never turn in on again. I worked for a wireless company and we had more iPhone users coming into the store with issues than Android users. Apple never wants to own their mistakes, they know MacBook overheats they know software updates are always messing up their phones. Now I own my own repair shop and more iPhone and Mac users come in to get their electronics fix because apple is not even able to back up their data. This month I fixed over 200 apple electronics and only 10 Android users have come into my shop. And less than 50 windows users have come into my shop because they buy computers with enough ventilation. I will give you this, apple has a better security than Android, because Android is more open source than iOS. Apple never admits that their hardware has issues, iPhone batteries do explode and expand. When I worked for the wireless companies we had to send alot of brand new iphones back to the company because their batteries were bad and we're braking the LCD screen. Apple users are always talking crap about other companies but never admit that apple is as bad as other phone manufactures.

What about the part where an iPhone 6S brought down a plane killing over 80 people?

It was only a theory and was never proven to be the cause.

It wasn't a theory. It was caused by the pilot's iPhone.

Actually it’s 2 years + 1 years for security patch and bug fixes total 3 years.

It's kinda not Samsung's fault as to how it's not updating phones after 2 years, Android OS takes half of the blame.

why does no one put the blame on carriers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because nobody is stopping Samsung - or other Android device manufacturer - to negociate with the carriers a similar deal that Apple did.

What happens when you buy a phone outright?? Can't blame the carriers there.

Hahahaha, nice. Awesome Ads. Too bad they still run "Samsung UX" and cost twice as much as more than decent Chinese Flagships. Anyway, looking forward to the new tabs, will just have to suck it up and use the ugly Ui.

The best examples of a Chinese flagship are the One Plus 6, Huawei P20 Pro and Xiaomi Mi8. None of these Chinese flagships cost half of the S9, they are roughly 100-200 less.

It’s not obsession, it’s loyalty which apple well deserves for providing the best user experience out there, ask a regular iOS user if they care about apple and are thinking about apple 24/7 just like Samsung sick trolls, they don’t care, they just use iOS devices because they are fine with the user experience and they don’t feel the need to change, sadly that doesn’t happen with android brands, Samsung is so envious cause it can’t achieve this and its fans are butthurt about it too and they live 24/7 thinking about apple even more than its users, it’s tragic and pathetic, don’t you think sis?

"they just use iOS devices because they are fine with the user experience and they don’t feel the need to change, sadly that doesn’t happen with android brands" While I agree with the rest of your comment. This part is pretty untrue. Sure there are switchers between OSes and brands. But most Samsung users I know feel what you claim doesn't happen.

Most of the Samsung users (fans) I know don’t buy iOS devices and hate Apple but they have never had an Apple device, they claim ridiculous things like: Apple is for snobs, Apple is too expensive, and all those status symbol arguments they say all the time which are pointless. Then they got the guts to call iOS users ignorants.
