Samsung official: Samsung Galaxy S5 to be unveiled in New York City during March
We recently passed along the word from Italian journalist Flavio Piccioni, who heard from a reliable source, that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would be unveiled in London around the middle of March. Of course, that would contradict the popular idea that the next iteration of Samsung's Android flagship handset would be unwrapped at MWC in February.

A published report out of Korea on Tuesday, cites an anonymous Samsung official who says that the MWC is mostly for business meetings and that the timing is wrong for an unveiling of the Galaxy S5 in Barcelona. And instead of a March launch in London, this executive says that the unveiling will be in New York City instead.

That might not seem terribly surprising considering that the Samsung Galaxy S4 was introduced to the world in New York City's Times Square last March. If the Korean based OEM is going back to the Big Apple to unveil the Galaxy S5, we wonder if HTC will be hanging out nearby with the HTC One+ like they did last year with the HTC One.

I got Samsung S3 was a nice device but I felt boring from it quickly... Now I got Moto X , really cool phone and I felt I don't need 8 CPU and 3GB ram, I don't know why the specs race about when you don't need them.

I'm no samsung fanboy but you simply can't deny that their phones are some of the best. I kept my S3 way past my upgrade date (was even offered a free S4) simply because it's surprisingly durable and its performance was above average. If they're really introducing a brand new phone for the S5, I can't wait to see what they have in store

I have both the S3 and S4. They're both good devices but I can't stand the over the top UI. If Samsung doesn't move closer to stock Android I'm going to skip the S5.

For a minute I was convinced that numbers matter on the best phone but now that I think about it it doesn't. I used to have a GS3 when I was going to switch to GS4 I started hearing rumors about the GS5 so that kinda got me mad so It seemed like Samsung only care about money not their customers so I went and got me a blackberry Z10 And hey I'm loving it more than my GS3 if I would have gotten the Z30 I would have loved it more then the GS4 haha so unless BlackBerry doesn't hurry up with that Z50 I'm going back to Samsung. My point here is that BlackBerry Z10 is better than GS3 with sold millions more then the Z10. But I think the Z10 is better.

All comes down to personal preference. I would get the iPhone 5S before the Z30 solely based on camera, apps, and iCloud syncing to my Mac.

Galaxy S5, iPhone 6, and Galaxy note 4 will be the three phones that matter 2014. Everything else will simply fill-in the pie

That's right, I'm excited to see what the G3 and Z2 will bring too. But design-wise, I want to see the S5 and i6, can't wait.

I think I'm pulling the trigger and getting a Champaign 5S soon and keep my Note 3. My only worry is battery life and transitioning to a incredibly smaller screen.

I find it very uneasy watching and browsing the net on the. iP5s. Cause i have a Note3 i'm use to big and bold vs small 4inch screen. Great for taking it to work. mainly i bought it for, orelse the Note3 covers everything. Really love this N3

I traded for a gold 5s a while back, it's gorgeous bro. Battery life on the 5s is actually pretty good. I think you should get one. My space gray, and $100 got me into one. The screen is smaller, but the phone is powerful and manageable in one hand. My note 3 is a beast, but I'm not a fan of the video camera, and the lack of auto resizing vids. Otherwise it's a great device.

Video quality is one of my favorite things on my Note 3, especially 4K video lol. Idk. If I find a 16 or 32GB for ~$550 new on CL, I'm pulling the trigger.

That's how I got mine, video playback on the note is awesome, I just hate having to manually select limit for mms to make sure the resolution is low enough to send. I send a lot of vids via mms, and email, and a large 1080p file simply won't send if it's large enough. Auto resizing is a feature I've liked in the iPhone, since they introduced video recording on the 3GS. My favorite note features so far are scrapbook, preset multi window combos, and my files since I'm constantly moving music to the sd card. Strangely, I can't get text to speech functionality, even though I downloaded that 100 meg + high quality voice file from Samsung apps. Any advice?

In terms of popularity? Probably. In terms of quality, No. Probably the Note 4, Nexus 6 and HTC One successor (HTC Two?)

The possibility of a new user interface has me really really interested in the S5, that and a metal chassis. Gonna have to be something pretty drastic for me to step away from my Z1S I just ordered this week..

I like my Galaxy Tab 3 and Note 10.1, but I just don't know how well a plastic body phone would survive my lifestyle. I think I need a little stainless steel for the win. :)

You do know that polycarbonate is more durable than aluminum? And it's aluminum used on the iphone and htc one, not stainless steel.

if you could wait for another 4-5 months after s5 you could get note 4 .. this cycle never ends so after you buy flagship stop reading phonearena and other tech news. so you can enjoy what you have for longer

u remember how S4 got "underspeced" in just a month? There is more competition this time and I don't think Samsung will be the best seller.

Compare the 5 million htc one sold, the 2 million lg g2 units, and the galaxy s4's 50 million units sold and give me a good explanation with freakin facts why it won't be the best selling android device. I remember reading how the htc one was going to be the rise of htc and the decline of sammy, same with the g2, g pro, optimus g, sony z, sony z1. Even you morons, picked the huawei mate 1 as the note series killer. You guys are delusional as phuck.
