Samsung may bring the Google Assistant to its smart TVs in 2019
Amazon and Google managed to integrate their personal digital assistants, Alexa and Assistant, into all sorts of products, including smart speakers, TVs, home appliances, headphones, and others.

Samsung on the other hand only managed to confuse and even horrify consumers with its own voice assistant called Bixby. Even integration with Samsung's 2018 TVs is fairly limited, as one can only use Bixby to control video playback, not third-party apps.

As such, it appears that Samsung has decided to team up with Google to integrate Google Assistant into its 2019 line of smart TVs, Variety reports. There's no word on whether or not Google Assistant will make it to older Samsung smart TVs, but since the South Korean company has already decided to add Bixby to these models, it's highly unlikely that it will replace it later on.

An official announcement concerning the partnership with Google may go live as early as next month when Samsung plans to introduce its new lineup of 2019 smart TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
