To refresh your memory, the Samsung DROID Charge offers a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. Under the hood is a 1GHz single-core Hummingbird processor powering the device, which will be loaded with Android 2.2. The camera on back is 8MP with a 1.3MP front facing camera. The model is priced at $299.99 with a signed 2-year contract.
Verizon customers finally have another 4G enabled handset to go along with the HTC ThunderBolt. Just remember though, ig you are looking for some dual-core processing action, you will still have to wait until May 26th when Big Red releases the Motorola DROID X2, as we reported earlier.
- Display 4.3" 480 x 800 pixels
- Camera 8 MP / 1.3 MP front
- Processor Samsung Exynos 3, Single core, 1000 MHz
- Storage 2 GB + microSDHC
- Battery 1600 mAh(11.00h talk time)

300 bucks, I don't think so. Even if I had Verizon I wouldn't pay 300 bucks for a phone.

Verizon may have excellent service, such as reception and decent prices. But they are overcharging for almost all of their phones. I don't know how T-Mobile can do it. Cheap plans and very low prices on phones with equal capabilities than these Verizon phones. Probably why they are being bought out, but who knows. I'd surely sell anything I own...even my girlfriend and parents for 39 Billion

Chicago is a 4G area...one of the major few in the Midwest. If you want great screen clarity go for the Samsung. That's what made me jump ship from Motorola...but if you want a more powerful phone & generally first in line for new software updates wait for the Bionic.

$300 bucks. No way, this phone or any phone is just not worth that on contract. Verizon is getting way to greedy. Motorola...no way. Touchwhiz...no way. Phone too big...no way. Verizon bloatware....way too much...no way. Verizon's had it day in the sun with the TB and failed this year. No Iphone fan at all, but hey at least the damn thing works without worrying every few minutes if you will lose your wifi connection or some missent txt message, or some screen flaw, or some screwball battery issue, or anything else that might crop up. For me it's going to be a Nexus S or and Iphone coming up. That's it!

Droid Bionic will come out probably during the summer. Revolution, Thunderbolt, and Charge are all around the same, play with each see what UI you like the most. I'd rather wait for the Bionic if I was you. I am.

I don't see the point in waiting for a dual core phone like the Droid X2 because dual core is USELESS: no speed & batery benefits untill Android Ice Cream Sandwich is available. The Droid X2 is launching with Froyo....2 software revs away. It'll take forever. Plus it's a 3G device....why buy old technology? The screen on the Charge is what has my attention plus the 32 GB micro SD card is worth 80-100 bucks alone.

I'm waiting on the HTC Destination. First quad core phone with a hi res screen and a 12MP rear/8MP front facing cam. It's supposed to be pretty slim too. Not Android based tho...it's supposed to be Windows Phone 7 with the usual features HDMI-out etc.

until that comes to verizon, i think the charge is the way to go. i want to lock in to my unlimited before they tier the data plans. this seems to have the better battery then the tb. ill pay the extra money for the 4g, super am + screen and 32gb card.

at target you can get it for 299.99 but if you use their trade in program you can get up to 200 dollars on an old cell phone. plus they have the red card discount which saves 5% off the top anyways. so it would be like 301 after taxes.

screw the Charge......nice screen but the guts are already outdated my "enhanced" OGD with Gingerbread gets better Quadrant scores than this thing look at all the reviews on the web....they all talk about how the Charge lagged right out of the box dont waste your money.......it isnt worth 150 let alone 300 its like buying a single core computer just because the LCD screen is pretty
