Rumor: Samsung is bringing in more engineers to optimize the Snapdragon 820 for the Galaxy S7

A couple of weeks ago, a report from the South Korean media claimed that Samsung is considering the launch of two separate Galaxy S7 versions, one that will be based on Samsung's successor to the Exynos 7420, and one that will rock the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. According to a new rumor, Samsung has expanded the team of engineers that are working on optimizing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset for use on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7.
One new detail that was brought forward today by the source is that Samsung is the first manufacturer that gets access to Snapdragon 820 testing samples. Now, such a development would seem to indicate that Samsung has secured orders for manufacturing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 on its 14nm FinFET technology, as was previously rumored. However, this is some reading between the lines on our part, and not info coming from the source of this rumor.
After dropping the ball with the Snapdragon 810, a chip that was plagued by poor thermal performance, Qualcomm has a lot riding on the Snapdragon 820. Although the chipmaker has yet to announce all of the hardware details, Qualcomm has already revealed that its upcoming high-end chip will come with a custom CPU architecture, an Adreno 530 GPU that's said to be 40% faster than the Adreno 430 inside the Snapdragon 810, a new DSP chip, as well as built-in malware protection.
Unfortunately, we can't verify the validity of this rumor, so make sure to digest this info with a hefty dose of the proverbial grain of salt.

It's likely that will be the case. Especially considering that's the way Samsung always did it in the past.

Exynos is good but what about other manufacturers? they have to use qual com. We are hearing about sd820 from a long time and it is no where to be seen. We are still getting all the devices with sd810. I like xperia Z5 and lg g4 but I am not able to purchase any phone in 2015. 2015 is the year for the first time in last 5 years in which I didnt purchased a new phone.

We already have the S-Pengate. Going back to snapdragon is going to be a terrible choice.

English is not as first language but he got the point across what he meant to say was the Snapdragon has to have Samsung on board because of the last year with the S six they said it was a problem and they did not want to use it what happened every manufacturer on the planet pretty much dumped them except for the few that couldn't and all the problems came out even with optimized need to keep the thermal down

Yeah If You Buy Though Our Carriers It Will Most Likely Be The Sd Version. But You Can Always Buy The International Version If You Want Exynos And Don't Mind Paying Full Price Up Front. If You Pay Full Price Though Your Carrier Anyway To Avoid Renewing Your Contract Like I Do Then You Should Just Wait For Reviews To Tell Which Is Best Before You Buy.

I am happy to hear that they're going to implement this the right way. It's still disheartening that we won't be seeing the Exynos M1 chipset. Supposedly, it's supposed to have a more powerful custom CPU and better GPU than what's in the Snapdragon 820. Hopefully they debut it in the Note 6.

The Exynos Mongoose M1 is 50% more powerful than the Exynos 7420 which is around 40% more powerful than S810. Atleast CPU wise not sure about GPU. http://www.phonearena.com/news
