Oppo's stylish R1C smartphone will be released globally as the R1x
Back in January, Oppo announced a new mid-range smartphone called R1C, and released it in China for around $400. Now, the company is getting ready to launch the handset worldwide, renaming it to Oppo R1x.

New name aside, the Oppo R1x won't be different from the device that's already available in China. It's got the same stylish sapphire glass back plate (reminiscent of HTC's Windows Mobile-based Touch Diamond from 2008), and the same 6.85mm-thin body.

Powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, the R1x sports a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, and runs Oppo's Color OS 2.0.1 (based on Android KitKat). Other features include a 5 MP front-facing camera, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2420 mAh battery.

The R1x will be sold globally starting mid to late April, most probably via Oppo's own online store, OppoStyle.com. The handset's price hasn't been announced, but it should match the price of the R1C (~$400). Interested?

Good phone. Nothing too paper-thin like the Oppo R5, wasting a overpriced device with a tiny battery capacity. *That camera vaguely reminds me of the iPhone's as well!

this phone has better material (sapphire and metal) so it's easy to understand why it's more expensive

the lenovo vibe shot is made from premium materials has 16 more internal storage and 1gb more ram it also has a 1080p screen and its only 350. so how is it easy to understand why its more expensive. i would say the lenovo shot has a better camera as well but that cant be determined by pixels only but since the phone is camera oriented and it has shot in its name its probably safe to say it has a better camera to.

brand value the same reason why Apple's products are as expensive as they can be Oppo has always been considering themself as a high-end company with really high quality product and they do great in promoting their products (at least in where i live) so the price is high for a reason

i have been using the Oppo R1, N1 mini, Find 7, etc... and I find them absolutely worth it, at least as much as any big name company out there the UI has interesting "gimmicks", great audio quality on the find 7, awesome display quality which can beat the crap out of Sony's mid-range phones' and good built quality overall (except for the glass back of the R1 which I broke 3 times)

Would choose m4 aqua anyday. Ip certified is one feature can't lived without especially in a tropical country that I live at. Constantly raining all year round.

I'd rather get the M4 aqua, there are tons of "premium" accessories anyway. M4 Aqua + tempered glass protector on the front and back + metal bumper = Win :P
