Oppo agrees to three year partnership with FC Barcelona

To the impressionable, seeing a commercial with a star footballer using a particular handset could go a long way in helping a smartphone buyer decide which model to buy. That is probably why Oppo has teamed up with the FC Barcelona squad for three years. The Oppo logo will start appearing at Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, and Oppo devices should soon start appearing on television commercials featuring the team.

Oppo CEO Tony Chen calls the deal "An important step in our global marketing strategy," and says that FC Barcelona was chosen because "they represent the art of football." Oppo currently offers its handsets in 20 countries in areas such as China, Australia, Mexico, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle East and Africa. The manufacturer also expects to begin a global expansion.

Oppo's newest handsets are the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus, both of which were unveiled last month with a loaded feature set. The R7 Plus includes a fingerprint scanner while both models offer VOOC rapid charging. This feature allows you to charge your phone from 0% to 75% in just 30 minutes.

Will Oppo be able to use this exposure to sell more handsets? If the deal is renewed after the three years expires, we'll have our answer.

Thanks for the tip!

Ahh, La Liga, where the contracts are huge, the team coffers are bloated, and the fans are unemployed or on their way to being unemployed. The priorities in Spain are definitely not out of whack when you have new ghost towns all over the country, but football rosters that look like all-star teams.

Liverpool, and no butthurt about it. La Liga is about to learn the lesson Spain itself is learning, and that is that this is unsustainable. The country is next after Greece in the "Bailout Zone," yet the domestic teams spend like the money will keep flowing. That's what is referred to as a bubble.

Meanwhile united has a debt of 400-500mil, and few other teams in EPL, but yeah the issue is la liga which top two teams actually make so much money that they can spend all that money, lol just lol

I guess the same that huawei had with arsenal, few logo spots on marketing press conference, 1-2 special Barcelona branded phones and facebook spamming that they sponsor Barcelona
