OnePlus 7T latest update brings important camera improvements
The most recent OnePlus flagship killer, the 7T is getting a small but important update that further improves the phone's camera performance. As some of you probably know by now, the OnePlus 7T packs a better camera than the predecessors. The circle island on the back accommodates three cameras: 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide camera, and 12MP 2x telephoto zoom lens.

Although it should capture better pictures, the camera still needs more optimizations, which OnePlus is delivering in the form of software updates. The most recent OxygenOS 10.0.3 update adds some general bug fixes and improvements, as well as the following camera enhancements:

  • Improved photo quality;
  • Enhanced stability of Camera;
  • User experience improvements.

The update is now being rolled out OTA (over the air) to all OnePlus 7T devices out there, but only a small percentage of users will get it today. The camera improvements should be available to everyone in the next few days, so be patient if you don't see the update right away.

Thank you. I'd have never know. PA didn't seem to mention that part (unless I missed it).

They just need to dial down the saturation, especially in videos, then they'll have one of the top cameras in the business. Their HDR is great, so is their night photography.

The problem with video on OnePlus is they default to Rec2020 I think. Totally different color space from what is the standard Rec709.

Oh yeah, I've seen a video about this, I believe the reviewer's name is Danny Winget or something like that, he did convert the files and they were color accurate after the conversion. Is there any reasoning why Oneplus is going with this format?

I was just talking about OnePlus making their really good camera set up better, and now I see this. Awesome. I like the fact that OnePlus is paying attention to the areas where they can do better by releasing updates to improve the cameras. They definitely have me as a consumer.
